Many thanks to Elaine, Lisa, Mike and the Committee for inviting me to judge today, I always enjoy this show and as always the hospitality was first rate. I spent pleasant day this year with the help of, Nicky Butler (Jinglebelles Prefix). A steward can either make or break a day but in Nicky’s case she certainly enhanced mine, she was so efficient, absolutely nothing escaped her attention and she handled the cats with the utmost kindness and consideration, she also marked my catalogue for me at the end of judging which was much appreciated. Thank you Nicky for a most enjoyable day I look forward to us working together again.

AC BIRMAN PREMIER NEUTER MALE

GR PR NOT AWARDED
1. BRIDGE’S PR TISCANTI FIREOF PHOENIX (13c5) MN 06.03.2008.
A 15 month old Red Point Birman. Who really looked the part, unfortunately when we got to his foot markings the white went past the stopper pad on his right foot which was such a pity as in all other respects he was a very nice lad. He had good overall type and balance with a strong, broad and rounded head, width and fullness to his cheeks and muzzle and a good depth of chin, he had medium sized ears which he tended to flare a little when he relaxed, however he had had the most glorious, almost round, blue eyes with such a gentle expression, he had medium length to his nose with a slight dip which rounded slightly toward the nose leather. He had a large and weighty body with a full tail balanced to his body length and good boning to his limbs with large paws. He was dressed in a well prepared full coat with a neat ruff, he had pale cream body fur with a slight golden hue along his back, the orangey/red colouring to his mask and ears had the greater depth of colour development, the red to his legs and tail somewhat paler. The white on the top of his front gloves almost matched, however, the left one sloped to the inside of the foot, the white underneath was just on a level with the stopper pad but as already mentioned the white under his right foot was too high, his socks were almost even, the left one just marginally higher, his gauntlets were three quarter the length of the hock a with a rounded finish and his feet could have been just a little whiter. It was such a pity I couldn’t award him a certificate due to the extended white on his foot as he was a gorgeous lad with the most marvellous temperament.

AC BIRMAN PREMIER NEUTER FEMALE

GR PR HAWES’S IGR CH & PR GLENPETER CONCERTO (13c2) FN 28.08.2001.
Blue Point Birman. Well what can I say about this beautiful lady that hasn’t been said many time before! For me she has it all, style, presence and type, and she is always shown to perfection. She has such a feminine expression to those glorious deep blue eyes. Her head is broad yet has gently rounded contours with breadth to the top and medium sized ears spaced well apart, a medium length nose with a slight dip in the profile and finished with deep blue nose leather, very full cheeks, broad muzzle and a firm chin. She has a large well covered frame (always so good to see on a female) beautifully balanced with a full tail that’s in proportion to her body length with strong medium length limbs and large paws. Her front gloves almost match and were even underneath, matching socks, three quarter length gauntlets, one just a little more tapered than the other but both even in length. She was dressed in a moderately full coat with a soft ruff framing her head, her body fur was mostly glacial white in tone, it was just a little harsh and darker down her back and flanks today (probably old winter coat) and she had well defined, matching medium blue points to her mask, ears, legs and tail. She really is a gorgeous girl who handled beautifully and it came as no surprise when she went BIS Semi LH Neuter. Congratulations to her Owners/Breeder.
RES GR PR NOT AWARDED
2. LOXTON’S PR INNUENDO FAT BOTTOMED GIRL (13c7) FM 30.03.2005.
A four year old Cream Point Birman girl of substantial proportions with moderately boned limbs and a full medium length tail. However, her head was small in comparison to her body size and she had a flat top rather than a rounded forehead, her nose was somewhat rounded in profile but it was of medium length with a slight dip and a pink leather, she had well placed ears, lovely medium blue eyes that were almost round in shape, nice width and fullness to her cheeks and muzzle, and a good depth of chin, but she has a dirty nose and a very dirty chin, (I did speak to her owner at the end of the day). She had matching top gloves that were neat underneath, almost matching socks, the right one a little uneven in shape and she had three quarter length tapered gauntlets. Her points were a dark shade of cream and she had strong tabby definition, as she had white rims to her ears, her legs were heavily barred as was her tail, and she had spotted whisker beds and white fur (spectacles) around her eyes. She had a moderately full, soft coat and neat ruff, her body fur was off white in colour overlaid with a very dark golden halo. She was grumbling away under her breath whilst being handled and was much happier when returned to her pen. I was sorry not to award this girl the certificate but felt the above mentioned imperfections precluded her from the awards.

LILAC CREAM PERSIAN ADULT

CC NOT AWARDED
1. SWINSCOW’S KIRKFORD PEGGOTTY. (11c) F. 02.03.2007
A young lady of two years and three months who was very rangy and underweight today, she has good bone and large paws but she did need to fill out and bulk up and her tail could have been shorter. She had a nice rounded head with good width between small neat ears, she had a very short nose with an acceptable leather and nostril apertures, although she had a very pronounced, deep stop and gutters, she had beautiful, large, rounded, dark orange eyes with a lovely expression, she needed more width and fullness to her cheeks and muzzle, her chin was quite firm bit I felt her bite was slightly misaligned. She had a soft and nicely intermingled coat with some patching on her face but the colour of her coat was quite hot along her back, her legs were lilac with small cream patches. I was sorry to withhold on this girl but felt the above mentioned faults precluded her form the certificate.

TORTIE OR CHOCOLATE TORTIE & WHITE ADULT

CC NOT AWARDED.
1. ANGUS’S CH PALCHINNO SEANYMPH. (12.2) F 10.04.2008.
A nice solid girl who was compact in shape with a short fully furnished tail, she had strong boning to her short legs and she stood on large rounded paws. Good broad head with neat well placed ears set wide on her skull, showing a slight indent to her forehead, she had a very short nose with a broad leather and a strong break, large deep copper coloured orbs but showing a dark residue around the rims and in the corners, she also has deep gutters along the sides of her nose and very dirty nostrils. She had full cheeks and breadth to her muzzle with a strong chin and almost level bite. She was dressed in a full coat with a frill covering her shoulders, her coat was two thirds colour to white, the blue and cream were medium to dark in tone and broken into large patches, the white could have been brighter, her tail was both cream and blue, she had a white inverted ‘v’ to her blue coloured face with a small cream patch on the right of her nose, and a blue chin, she had white to her under body and limbs. I was sorry to withhold on this girl as her coat was quite well groomed, however, she was let down with the heavy staining to her face.

BI-COLOURED ADULT MALE

1.CC & BOB. AMBLER’S TYTHERTON RALPH LAUREN. (12a5) M. 25.05.2008.
Wow!! What a stunning 13 month old Red & White Bi-Colour lad. So very impressive with his gorgeous type, heavy bone and his immaculately groomed voluminous coat, he looked like a powder puff on legs. He had great breadth and fullness to his head with a nicely rounded skull and small, neat, well feathered ears that fitted snugly into the contours of his head, he had large, cooper eyes, a short nose with a defined stop and well formed nose leather, the nostrils could have been just a little larger, he had lovely, round apple cheeks, a broad muzzle and good depth of chin with a wide, scissor bite. He had a large compact body shape with a short plumed tail, he had stout limbs and large, round tufted paws. His coat was absolutely amazing, it was so long you couldn’t see his legs without lifting it and he had a massive ruff framing his head and extending down between his front legs, his body fur was predominantly white and almost van patterned, he had an even white blasé separating the rich red colouring to his head, he had a full red tail with a little red patch just above his tail and on his shoulders, the remaining fur to his body and limbs was sparkling white, he really was groomed to perfection with every hair separate and shining, I just wish more show cats were groomed to this standard! I was so pleased to see him go BIS Overall Persian later in the day which he truly deserved and my sincere congratulations go to his owner/breeder.

AOC SELF COLOURPOINT KITTEN MALE

1ST NOT AWARDED.
2. HAMMETT & COKER’S SHOU CREAMCRACKER (13b7) M. 27.02.2009.
A little Cream Point or Cream Tabby Point lad? Who was just 13½ weeks of age. I did confer with a breeder judge and she confirmed he looked like a Cream Tabby Point. However, whatever his colour he needed to be somewhat larger for his age as he was quite small. He looked very unbalanced facially and although he had quite a good breadth to the top of his head, the lower half of his face was shorter than the top, his ears were a tad large, he had short nose with a good break but the fur and skin from the side view hung over the tip of his nose giving him a strange profile and the leather was a little small. He didn’t have the correct round eye shape, they were straight across the top of his eyes and the colour was very pale blue/green, he had quite good width to his cheeks and a good depth of chin but he had a slightly overshot bite. He had good cream definition to his points but showing decidedly cream tabby patterning to his face, ears, legs and tail. He was dressed in a soft kitten coat that was quite well groomed. He was a dear little soul who just purred the whole of the time he was handled. I was sorry not to award a first in this class but the above mentioned faults were the reasons why.

AOC SELF COLOURPOINT KITTEN FEMALE

1ST NOT AWARDED.
2. HAMMETT & COKER’S SHOU SAPHIRE (13b4) F. 27.02.2009.
A little lilac point girl who was litter sister to Cream cracker and who was also a tad small for her age. She had a nice round head with well placed ears that were a touch large, she had the same eye shape as her brother with a straight top and rounded underneath and the colour was very unsettled having a green mottling to the outer rim, she had a short nose with a good break and a small pinkish/grey nose leather but the same nose profile with the fur and skin overhanging the tip of the nose. She had ample width and fullness to her cheeks and muzzle and a good depth of chin with an almost level bite. She was dressed in a soft, fluffy, magnolia kitten coat, her points still developing with the deeper colour to the middle of her mask, her leg and tail colour indiscernible at present. Her presentation was fairly good although a little more attention to her face would have been beneficial. Again I was sorry to withhold the first place on this girl but the eye shape/colour and nose profile were incorrect.

SEAL POINT BIRMAN ADULT

CC NOT AWADRED.
1ST. BUSH’S BIRSARUS SEALOF PERFECTION (13c1) M. 03.09.2008.
At nine months of age this lad was just old enough to enter into this adult class today. He was a nice weighty lad for his age with good body conformation and a balanced tail which was well furnished. He had good boning to his legs and nice strong paws. However, he was very unbalanced facially, he had width to the top of his head but he needs to fill out in his cheeks and muzzle, he had well pl aced ears that were a little on the large side, lovely eyes shape and expression with very deep blue centres but slightly paler around the perimeters, his nose was medium in length, however, it had a very pronounced dip and a bump in profile and he also needed a stronger chin as it tended to fall away. The seal colouring to his points were developing well with the deeper colouring to his head and ears, his whisker pads paler, the leg colour still developing and his tail was very brindled. He had well marked scalloped gloves, the right one was higher under the foot than the left and it had a small white spot, he had almost matching socks, the right gauntlet three quarter the length of the hock and tapered the left with a more rounded finish. He had a moderately full, creamy/white coat with just a little smattering of salt and pepper colouring along his back.

BLUE POINT BIRMAN ADULT MALE

CC NOT AWARDED.
1ST FISHER’S PANZALIA PRINCE OF HEARTS. (13c2) M. 13.07.2008.
A ten month old Blue Point lad who was well developed and had good body length with sound boning to his legs and although he had a full tail I would have preferred it a tad longer. He had a good head shape which needs to fill out a little more which I’m sure it will do as he matures. His ears were held a little high today, he had beautiful eye shape and colour (almost round and deep blue), medium length nose with a slight dip but just a little rounded in profile, he had good nose leather, his cheeks and muzzle were filling out and he had an ample chin depth. He had a good depth of mid blue colouring to his mask, just a little paler on his whisker pads, the colour developing well on his legs and tail. His gloves were slightly uneven, the right one was scalloped, the left was just a little higher, the white matched underneath, his socks were quite low and scalloped and the gauntlets were very short, narrow and pencil like. He had a soft well prepared, glacial white coat with a neat little ruff. A sweet and gentle lad of good type who was well presented but unfortunately his markings were not up to the required show standard.

BLUE POINT BIRMAN ADULT FEMALE

1CC & BOB SUTTIE’S ADSETLO TWOULRIKA (13c2) F. 15.05.2007.
A young lady two years of age who looked much better out of her pen. She had nice type and overall balance with a moderately full pale, coat and well developed mid-blue points colouring. A pretty little girl with a nice head shape, she had good width to the top with medium sized ears that were just a touch upright and the fur was a little unruly behind, she had a medium length nose with a slight dip in profile and just a tiny rounding towards the tip, expressive deep blue eyes that were almost round in shape, she had width and fullness to her cheeks and muzzle and a firm chin to balance. She had a moderately full coat, glacial in tone with just a hint of darker golden colouring along her back. She had almost matching gloves, the right one was just a little more scalloped, low socks that were just on a level formed by the angle of the foot and she had three quarters length gauntlets. She was a sweet young lady who was well prepared for show.

AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL KEITTEN FEMALE

1 & BOB MARJASON’S CHICATS CLOVER (66w) F. 13.09.2008.
A little Seal Point mitted girl who was eight months of age with nice Rag Doll type and sweet expression. She had a good breadth and fullness to her face, large, well opened eyes of mid-blue colour, they were slightly oblique in shape and set well apart, she had a flat top and medium sized forward tilting ears that were set wide, she had a good nose length with a gentle dip a slight retrousse tip and she had a firm chin and a level bite. She had a long body that was well boned and weighty, she had moderately boned legs with large, round, tufted paws and a long tail to balance which could have been a little fuller. She had good seal colouring to her mask with a little white flash on her nose, a white chin, bib, chest and white under parts, she had a moderately lengthy beige coat the colour finished on a level with her under body and there was a little shading along her back. She had well matched seal points to her mask and legs, her front paws had white mittens and the white on her back legs extended just above the hocks. Another sweet young lady who was well prepared for show.

AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL NEUTER

BOB SALTER’S PR ADSETLO ONECOOLCAT (66) MN. 27.05.
(A strong, mature, handsome Seal Point Colourpointed Ragdoll of excellent type and style. He had a lovely expression to those blue eyes. Excellent coat quality, he was presented to great advantage and he knew he looked good.)
1.PC BOWKER’S VALKEA AURORA BOREALIS (66w) MN. 14.03.2008.
Nearly fifteen months of age and already a very large and well developed Seal Point Mitted lad of good type. He had a very broad head with forward facing medium sized ears that were spaced wide on a flat top, large well opened - cerulean blue eyes with a very slight oblique set, he had well developed cheeks, a rounded muzzle, a medium length nose with a shallow dip but not showing a retrousse tip and he had a good depth of chin. He had a proportionate and substantially boned body with medium length legs and large round tufted paws, a long moderately furnished tail to balance with his body length. He was dressed in full and lengthy coat which was quite soft and well prepared, he had a large pale ruff, his body fur was beige in tone with some shading down his back, his body colour finished just on a level with his under body. He had very dense seal points, to his legs and tail, a good depth of seal colouring to his mask with contrasting long white whiskers and a white chin, his bib, chest and under parts were also white. His front white mittens were a little scalloped but matched, his back legs were white to just above the top of the hocks. He was a very laid back youngster who revelled in the attention and was a delight to handle.

AC PERSIAN SELF ADULT

1. HOWES’S HONEYMIST BLACK MAXIMUS (1) M. 02.06.2007.
A very handsome, black, two year old male with open faced type and all facial features nicely balanced. He had a large broad head with a rounded skull, neat little, well feathered ears set low and wide, beautiful large copper orbs, a short nose with a defined break, well formed nose leather and good nostril apertures, he had plump, apple cheeks, a well padded muzzle and a good depth of chin and a level bite. He had a compact and cobby physique with a short plumed tail, short thick limbs and nicely rounded paws. He was dressed in a full, inky black coat with a large ruff framing his handsome face, the colour black was so dense without any signs of rustiness, and it was very soft and expertly presented. I really liked this lad he was a real charmer.
2. TOMLINSON’S PELLARN PINOCHIO (1) M. 06.05.2008.
Another black lad of open faced type and good facial balance, however, he had a slight skull indent. His ears wear quite small and well placed and his nose was short with a break and well formed leather, he had ample width and fullness to his cheeks and muzzle and a good depth of chin with an almost level bite. He had a compact and cobby body shape with a short tail to balance with good boning to his limbs. He was dressed in a moderately full, black coat with a neat ruff and his coat was quite soft and well presented.
3. ANGUS’S ANSTEYN RED HOT CHILLIPEPPER (4) M.14.06.2008. Red Self

AV SLH LOCAL ADULT

1. SCANDRETT’S MIAOWAMOUR ARMANI BUDDY (66) M. 11.02.2008.
A Seal Pointed Ragdoll, who at 16 months of age was well developed and substantial. He had a lengthy body and balanced tail and good boning to his limbs. He had nice head type with forward tilting ears of medium size, medium blue eyes almost round and showing a slight oblique set, good nose length and profile with width to his cheeks and muzzle and finished with firm chin. He had a moderately lengthy coat with a small ruff, his body fur was shaded as were his under parts and he needed a little more show preparation, his seal points were very unsettled today, he looked like he had been sunbathing as his points were very bleached, and a rusty/orange in colour. Hopefully when he gets his new winter coat his points will return to the seal colour they should be.
