The Burmese Cat Club Show 26th June 2010 Household and Pedigree Pets

Many thanks to Alan and Linda for the invitation to judge at this prestigious show. Also thanks again to Mark Weale for his sympathetic handling of these lovely pets. All of the exhibits were beautifully presented and behaved impeccably despite the heat. I was left with the near impossible task of choosing Overall Best in Show Pet between the fabulous Non Pedigree Kitten Moby Clavius and the stunning Pedigree Pet MC Solomon. Both were super exhibits but in the end his experience on the show bench and the thorough facial massage he gave me tipped the balance to MC Solomon's favour. Don't fret Moby, your time will come I've no doubt.

Imperial Class AC Pedigree Pet Grand Master Cat

IGMC Swingler's UC & GMC AUTUMN

(SH Black Ticked Tortie Tabby & White) FN 3yrs 5 mths Only one to consider but well worthy of her Imperial award. Super friendly girl, couldn't make up her mind to be in or out of her pen, I think she was inviting us inside. She chatted away happily to my steward. Superb grooming of her wonderful soft coat which is tortie and black and white with a nice dark ridge along her spine. Pale yellow eyes and a pretty nose smudged with charcoal. Excellent temperament.

Grand Class AC Non-Pedigree Pet Master Cat - Male

GMC Aldridge-Snell's GMC CHESTER

(SH Black & white) MN 4 yrs Black and white chap, well muscled body. Alert and lively despite the heat, he pricked up his sharp tipped ears when I spoke to him, clearly an intelligent cat. Lovely yellow eyes. Extra soppy temperament, as I stroked his head he fell over on his side for a tummy rub. Well groomed and just beat his rival on temperament.

 2nd Toth's MC ROMEO

(SH White) MN 2 yrs Substantial, large boned lad, perfectly white all over with lustrous yellow eyes Lovely straight profile giving him a serious look. He was well groomed but shedding a bit due to the heat which seemed to be affecting him a little. A little bit shy out of his pen.

AC Non-Pedigree Pet Master Cat - Female

GMC Aldridge-Snell's MC FUDGE

(SH Ginger & White) FN 5 yrs What a pretty baby girl, doesn't look anything like 5 yrs old. Sweet little face highlighted by ginger tabby patches, well groomed longer fur along her back and deeper red colour on her tail. She has an super friendly temperament out of her pen, made bread on my arm and purred herself giddy throughout. Well worthy of her Grand award. Congratulations to her young owner on her excellent presentation.

OPEN CLASSES SH Tabby Cat of any pattern, with or without white

1st MC & Best of Class Ford's BORIS AGRIPPA

(SH Brown Mackerel Tabby & White) MN 4.5.09 Nice brown and grey tabby markings, nicely groomed coat and well presented. He was a little shy, I think the heat had tired him as he just wanted to sit in his pen and grumble at the world. Eventually he was persuaded to come out of his pen and open his lovely amber eyes which give him such a pretty expression. Really nice tabby "wild" stripe from the corner of his eyes to his jowls made him look like his was wearing a spectacle chain. And a top name.

AC Non-Pedigree Pet SH Kitten

1st Ford's MOBY CLAVIUS

(SH Brown Classic Tabby) M 19.2.10 A bold young lad who was sat at the front of his pen waiting for us. Super classic tabby markings with equal whorls on each flank and wide stripes along his back giving him a "wild" look. He has remarkably unusual brown eyes. He loved his cuddles and was relaxed out of his pen, showing off his spotty tummy. I loved his glossy black paw pads, like blobs of liquorice - not many miles on the clock! Very well presented with a top show temperament and a wonderful name. He was later awarded Best in Show Non-Pedigree Pet, congratulations to his devoted owner.

PEDIGREE PETS SH Self Cat, with or without white

1st MC & Best of Class Beswick's MC SOLOMON

(SH Lilac) MN 5 yrs An absolute timewaster! Demanded tummy rubs even before he came out of his pen. A hefty lilac lad who purred constantly like a vibrating velvet cushion. When he came out for a cuddle he massaged my arm, them moved up to my shoulder and went on to give me a wonderful facial combined with nose rubs. He didn't want to go back in his pen. He has a super plus show temperament and really enjoyed himself. Expertly groomed and presented short lilac coat. Utterly shameless. Later BIS Pedigree Pet and Overall HP, well done and hugely deserved.

2nd Chapman's BRUNO

(SH Brown) MN 2 yrs Super shiny brown boy, very friendly. He has extremely large paws which he used to make bread with great expertise. A lovely gentle temperament and clearly enjoyed his day out. Another expertly groomed exhibit. who was unlucky to be up against such an outrageous flirt.

SH Ginger/AC Tortie Cat, with or without white

1st MC & Best of Class Bernard's MC CHARLIE

(SH Red) MN 2yrs 9mths A very tall cat of muscular build and weighty. Solid muscle, no fat and gleaming with health. Superbly groomed short velvety coat of pale red which was soft in texture. Sweetest pink ears. Very confident out of his pen, an intelligent chap who was a good listener.
