Suffolk & Norfolk Cat Club16.05.09Mrs Val AndersonMany thanks to Helen and her team for the invite and excellent hospitality. Thanks to Dave Gooding who was an excellent steward as always and good company too. There had obviously been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make this a very spectacular & enjoyable show for everyone. I wasn’t able to stay for the BIS judging but it was a treat to be able to watch it the next day courtesy of the video recordings on Cat Planet. OPEN CLASSESORIGINAL FOREIGN CHAMPION MALEGCC BOND-WONNEBERGER’S CH FURBELL STARGAZER (16a) M 03.03.08Russian Blue A young man of only 14 months with a very sweet temperament and lovely Russian look. Flat skull, short wedge and good angle in profile, very slight dip to the nose & prominent whisker pads. OK chin and level bite. Large vertically-set ears and large green almond-shaped eyes though they are set a fraction deep. Elegant if well-fed body with limbs to balance & small oval paws. Moderately long but rather thick tail. Dense fine coat, soft to the touch. Coat plushy & double and lovely even blue colour with a well-developed silvery sheen & almost sound to the roots. Shown in lovely condition. Although obviously still a youngster a super example of the breed – congratulations to his owner/breeder on later becoming best Foreign Exhibit. RGCC LACEY’S CH JENANCA LONE STAR (34) M 05.09.07Korat A masculine boy of 1½ years who was undecided whether to be friendly or not! Heart-shaped head with lovely breadth between & across the eyes. Short nose with a slight stop in profile plus a small nose bump though it emphasises the downward curve at the tip. Moderately large, well-set ears. Large luminous eyes of a lovely green colour though ideally they could be more oversized for his face. Lovely strong semi-cobby body with limbs to balance & tapering tail, just long enough. Slight greasiness to his tail & his coat was probably not at its best, lots of raging hormones probably! Coat a touch long & a little dense, silver tipping on the limbs but it needs to develop more on the body. ORIGINAL FOREIGN CHAMPION FEMALEGCC DARBY’S CH SILVERSMOKE SPINDRIFT (23c) F 21.11.07Blue Abyssinian An elegant girl of 1½ years with a very attractive look. Head a moderate wedge with rounded contours, a slight indentation forming the muzzle. Bite just meets. Good nose break in profile. Moderately large ears, cupped & pricked and set wide apart. Large eyes of rounded almond shape with good depth to the greeny colour. Elegant body with limbs to balance. Tapering tail thick at the base with a blue tip. Moulting at present but her coat is fine and close-lying. Warm overall colour with blue ticking on a pinkish mushroom base & good to see good colour to the base coat on her body. Expressive facial marking with lovely “specs” and clear pencil lines. Fuzzy well-broken necklet. Blue colour to the hock though only along the edge of the heel. An alert girl with a gentle nature. Only one in the class but I was happy to award the certificate. BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT, MALE1ST CC WELLINGTON’S ZUGZOG ROMEO NAMOURAI (76 30) M 22.11.06A very strong masculine boy of 2 years. Well-set but rather large ears & large eyes that are a little bold but of a good green colour. Long body, sleek & muscular with limbs to balance but this tail could be thicker. Soft but rather sleek coat. Warm overall colour & distinct spotted pattern on a golden base. Large rosetted spots of arrowhead shape though some linkage on the shoulders. Well-marked limbs & ringed tail with a dark tip. Shown in excellent condition and easy to handle. Almost parallel nose though her profile is a touch straight, level bite and OK chin. Well-set ears of medium size and large eyes of rounded almond shape and set straight under a level brow. Her eye colour appears to be developing with the promise of good colour to come. Elegant & muscular body with elegant limbs to balance & small dainty paws. Medium length tail, moderately thick at the base. Coat of medium length, close-lying & reasonably dense with a resilient texture. Clearly spotted with black spots on a silvery-white agouti base. A very well-fed girl rather lacking in elegance. Head very slightly longer than wide & her muzzle is rather rounded & needs to be longer in profile. Slight whisker pinch, slight curve from muzzle to cheek. Bite not checked properly as she was a little grumbly and she was very sensitive in the mouth area. Large ears with a broad base & rounded tips with small tufts, set at a 45 degree angle. Large expressive eyes of almond shape & set at an angle. Solid body that could do with more length, muscular limbs. Tail rather short & it appeared to end abruptly as if she is missing the tip? Coat reasonably short & lies close but could be more satiny.
