My 1st time at this popular show, grateful thanks to Donna Stephenson for stepping in to steward at the last minute when John was taken ill. Donna is good company and is learning fast how to handle cats, she is from the Persian section and has Exotics. John and I had a lovely trip home and stayed at a fantastic 16th century Hotel on the river in Newark, before embarking on the rest of our journey home.

Black Silver Spotted Adult

BOB Only:Harrison’s Gr Ch Adsinch Silver Edwin M 3 yrs 4 mths

Big strapping lad but of lovely type and bone but quite brindled today.

AC Selkirk Rex Intermediate Kitten

1st & BOB Nicholson’s Cleyview Diesel (79s43s)

Well grown chap of very good weight. Round head shape but his ears are slightly more “british”, not quite as big as could be described as medium in size, fairly broad at base and set correctly. Full cheeked. Large round expressive eyes, short nose, downward slant but has a bump in profile with rather straight whiskers. Muzzle is pinched and needs to develop the rectangular appearance; padding is evident at the whisker break. Slightly curly eyebrows. Level bite and chin. Muscular lad of quite good bone with medium legs and a fairly rectangular body, still developing shape. His coat is excellent and was my eventual reason for not withholding the BOB today for his other faults which I hope are transitory. The coat is well waved, right down to the roots all over including his paws and stands away well in uniform length curls and waves. Tail is to shoulder, medium thickness and has waves, rounded at the tip.

Blue BSH Neuter

1st PC Hirst’s Pr Valpetina Franksdream MN 3 yrs 7mths.

Open face lad of slightly plain appearance with a flattened brow that does rather detract. However he is a big lad of generally good balance overall with very nice bone. His ears are set slightly high though and large round gold eyes set wide apart, short broad nose, level bite and fat cheeks, chin firm. Good weight, nice and solid and muscular. His coat is crisp but is rather dark and unsound and uneven in length and as he is moulting too I forgave him today, as the weather has not been kind to this breed! Thick tail with rounded tip.

BOB: Rae’s Pr Dashwick Dusty MN 1yr 9 mths.

Much better colour and overall type but squared in the muzzle, he too is a strapping lad of very good bone.

Cream BSH Neuter

1st PC & BOB McColl’s Topmarx Sir Lancelot MN 1 yr 2 mths

Wriggly lad, needs more general handling to help him if he is to continue his show career and relax and enjoy his day. He is a pretty lad with fairly neat ears set well on a fairly broad and rounded head. Cracking copper eye colour, full cheeks, short nose but untidy bite with sore gums, chin firm and of quite good depth. Mid cream in colour but has some tabby markings on his face and upper body which I hope clears as he matures. Could perhaps be a better weight and have more muscle tone for his age as I could just feel his spine. Fairly short almost sound coat, texture not bad. Tail to balance.

AC BSH NON BREEDERS ADULT MALE

2nd no 1st. Clayton’s Wellmar Eltonjohn (16) M 1yr 2mths

Unfortunately, he has a very badly malocluded bite, he cannot close his mouth due to his canines rubbing against each other. He is a big lad of good bone and quite good type but his coat is very silvered too. His muzzle is too prominent and square and detracts. Not of show quality I am afraid.

AC NON BREEDERS ADULT FEMALE

1st Fountain’s Malsome Unchained melody (15r) F Fawn. 11mths.

Slightly small lass going through a leggy stage which isn’t surprising as she is also a new breed and is in that developmental stage. Nice round head, short nose, level bite, chin slightly shallow as yet, cheeks filling. Good round gold eyes but feint green rim in centre in this light. Short dense coat is sound colour to the roots, maybe a tad dark for a fawn I mused whether she might have cinnamon behind her?? Even though and overall a promising lady for this breed and I hope the rim clears. Tail is good but tabbied.

AC VISITORS ADULT MALE

1st Oliver’s Kathoona King Bee (16) M 9mths.

Pretty lad, small head to body as yet but he is young and good potential overall. Excellent orange eyes, short straight nose, good cheeks and good breadth of bone to his head. Cobby and balanced with good bone and muscle tone. Thick coat of developing texture a mid blue that is not quite sound to roots, very light silvering at the tips. Thick tail.

2nd Lee’s Sodachicats Stormen Norman (16) 1yr 4mths.

Big lad of fabulous bone with large head and deep chest. Very good width between large ears though, short broad nose, level bite, squared muzzle which detracts a little. Solid muscular body out of balance at present with the rest of him. His coat is moulting, uneven in length and spiky in places, darkish almost sound blue and patchy today. Just let him moult out and mature slightly into his frame and I anticipate he will look much better!

AC BSH VISITORS ADULT FEMALE

1st Wright’s Gr Ch Bergors Blaize (28)

What a naughty tortie! Judged on numerous occasions I can only muse that she is rather hormonal. That said she is a cracking example of this breed, lovely type and balance and mingling and coat.

2nd No name as no page in catalogue! Pen 137:

Type black girl, super cat, excellent coat and jet black colour, sound to roots. Copper eyes. Very promising lady.

3rd. Lee’s Sodachicats Mismoonflower (40/4) F 1yr 4mths.

Sadly this pretty girl was highly nervous and twitchy as though she was rarely handled. Pity.

ACBSH NOVICE KITTEN

1ST Clayton’s Britikat Flashdance (20e)

Beautiful tortie tabby, fabulous bright red overlays to the pattern, really vibrant and what lovely type too and eye colour, congratulations! Good cobby body, good breadth of chest and promising all over.

2nd Nicholson’s Cleyview Diesel

3rd. Kidd’s Catykes Kimmarchant (18a)

Well grown lad but rather wedge shaped in the head at present.Nice oysters but lots of brindling I hope disappears.

AC BSH VISITORS KITTEN

1st Bruce’ Lottina Mistique (15c) 7mths.

Very unhappy baby, very sad to see this on the show bench in kitten so early. Rather too typy but with large ears, quite an odd mix. Flat faced, level bite at present. Pale lemony gold eyes which should be deep coloured at her age. Prominent muzzle too, very strong chin, cheeks filling. Good bone. Coat is a strange cold “lilac” almost blue, no hint of pink at all I am afraid. Heavy tabby pattern too. Not really show quality I am so sorry to say. I honestly deliberated on whether to give her a 1st in this class.

AC BSH BREEDERS NEUTER

1st Griss’s Griselian Disco Diva. (40/3) 1yr

Large lady of fabulous bone and temperament. Lovely head and body, pale blue eyes though. Good neat ears! Fairly short dense coat, balanced rich seal points in tone but slight brindling to the legs and mask and shading to the flanks. Tail has rings.

2nd Hall’s Gr Pr Catykes Tonione (31a) MN 1yr 11mths

Large blue&white chap of excellent bone. Good type and balance too, acceptable bite (higgledy piggledy) Open face with orange expressive eyes. ¾ white collar, generally good balance of white to darkish blue unsound patching, a tad unsound and flat lying, just has some scattered white hairs along the divisions. Purred all the time, a lovely lad. Correct balance of white to colour.

AC BSH JUNIOR NEUTER

1st Rae’s Pr Dashwick Dusty

2nd McColl’s Topmarx Sir-Lancelot

AC BURMESE NOT BRED BY EXHIBITOR FEMALE

1ST Smith’s GR CH Machika Calleigh (27c) 3yrs 2mths.

I see I have judged this gorgeous lady often! She has excellent depth to her short wide blunt wedge! She is also an excellent weight for her size, quite a well built solid and muscular lady, my take home cat of the day! Short straight nose with distinctive break, level bite and good depth to her level chin. Excellent width between medium forward tilting broad based ears with gentle rounding to brow between. She has chartreuse eyes of typical Burmese expression set wide apart. Pale lilac coat that lays close and is fine and satin like, super tone and slight pinky hues. Tail to shoulder of medium thickness and rounded tip.

AC DEBUTANTE BURMESE ADULT

1ST Pallister’s Adatebu Loveinamist (27c) F. 9mths.

Overall a nice sized lady and of very good weight with slender shapely legs and oval paws that I feel is slightly immature as yet. Super temperament, she made bread all the time! Medium thick tail with blunt tip, to shoulder. Moderate blunt wedge with quite good depth from top of head to lower jaw and fair width across the cheeks so the eyes are not set as wide as I would like to see and although they are a good size, the topline is slightly straight across the chartreuse coloured eye . Muzzle is pinched slightly and the chin recedes marginally; bite is level. Her ears are still a little large and set a little high on her head at present, very gentle rounding between. Her coat was laying open when we saw her, not quite laying close. It is a cold lilac in this hall lighting and didn’t really show any pinky tones although is mostly even in tone.

AC LIMIT BURMESE KITTEN

1ST Twigge’s Molynmeux April Feuxl (27g) F 4mths 3wks.

A well-developed kitten overall who is a good size, good muscle tone and excellent weight. Short wide wedge that has good depth and width at the cheeks. Gently rounded brow between what is very good width between broad based but fractionally large ears, good forward tilt. In profile she has a good break to the short straight nose but she is slightly fine at the muzzle and a tiny bit pinched, I put this down to her age and teething. Expressive pale yellow eyes set wide apart and of good fullness and shape, just showing a thin green rim at present. Level bite, level chin but a little shallow. Excellent coat! Even nicely mingled blue-tortie close lying coat already of very promising texture. Shapely slender legs and paws of oval shape. Tail is slightly less than medium thickness for me but ends in a nicely rounded tip. Small smudge to thighs and feint leg bars.

AV VISITORS KITTEN

2ND NO 1ST. Pallister’s Penwynkatz Dollymixture (27j) F 5mths 1wk.

I am so sorry to withold on this kitten but I am afraid she has a distinctive squint, as discussed and agreed by a full Burmese Judge, I do hope it is transient and doesn’t remain as it was today. Other than this she is a very nice size and weight with slender legs and spoon shaped paws. Tail of medium thickness to shoulder with paintbrush tip. She has a nice short, wide and blunt wedge of quite good depth from top of skull to lower jaw and good width between medium ears of correct set with a distinctive break to the short straight nose. Slight muzzle pinch. Eyes of pale yellow seemed a fraction small, would prefer them more full and lustrous, gentle slant to nose but needs more fuller lower line I feel. Lovely pale lilac and pale cream mingling, very pretty, but her coat is rather open and not as close lying as I would expect at her age. Small bald patch on her neck.

AC MAIDEN BURMESE NEUTER

1ST Twigge’s BEANNOCHT Caer Nephenehir (27b) FN 8yrs 3mths.

What a happy cat, she purred non-stop! Super size, still retaining some muscle tone but slightly portly around the middle. Excellent Burmese type and expression, super short blunt wedge of good depth and width at the cheeks, short nose with good break but is just slightly pinched at the muzzle. Nicely rounded brow between just less than medium forward tilting ears of correct set. Typical yellow Burmese eyes, set wide apart and full and lustrous, maybe a little deep set though to nit pick. Level bite and chin. Rich chocolate fine and close lying coat with darker contrast masking and a smudge to thighs, faint brindling to his coat in places and one or two scattered white hairs. Tail just reaches shoulder and is medium thickness with a rounded tip.

AC VISITORS BURMESE NEUTER

1ST Smith’s Gr Pr Machika Del Conte (27c) MN 2yrs 2mths.

Grumbled at coming out but really all mouth as he then decided to purr! Super big solid muscular chap with shapely legs and large oval paws. Medium thick tail with lovely paintbrush tip. Short blunt wide wedge with fairly rounded brow, just flattening on the top of the head, between ears of good size and set. Expressive set wide apart yellow eyes of good shape and set with a short straight nose that has a distinctive break, level bite and good depth to level chin. Lovely coat that is fine and close lying, a good length but just marginally lengthens down the back. Super colour, nice and even pale lilac with a slight pinky hue.

AC BURMESE ADULT

1ST Campbell’s Gr Ch Papagena Queenshba (27h) F 7yrs 3mths.

Lovely cat! Super weight and size, supported by shapely legs and oval paws with a balanced medium thick tail ending in a rounded tip. Short blunt wedge that is wide at the cheeks and of very good depth; Gentle rounding to the brow, marginally flattened on the top of head between medium well set ears. Excellent break to her short straight nose, level bite and chin that is a good depth. Typical Burmese expressive eyes of pale chartreuse, full and lustrous and set wide apart. Lovely mix of pale chocolate and various reds, very pretty mingling and blotching, short in length and lays really well.

CHOCOLATE BURMESE ADULT CLUB CLASS

1ST CAMPBELL’S CH MICIASALI HANNUKKAH 2YRS 5MTHS.

Lovely temperament to this stylish lady. She is a dainty cat but balanced and of good weight and slender legs with dainty oval paws. Tail to shoulder with paintbrush tip. Short wide wedge just tapering to a slight muzzle pinch but has good depth and width at the cheeks. gentle rounding to the brow between medium forward tilting ears nice and broad at base but set marginally high. Chartreuse expressive eyes of good shape and set wide apart. Short nose with good break in profile. Warm close lying chocolate coat just a little uneven down the spine but generally even elsewhere.

LILAC BURMESE KITTEN CLUB CLASS

1ST CAMPBELL’S MICIASALI MOSHE 6MTHS.

Nicely relaxed purring well grown lad! Excellent muscle tone and weight to his solid body supported by shapely slender legs and large oval paws, tail is medium in thickness and ends in a rounded tip but is slightly short. Short blunt wide wedge of very nice overall depth and width at the cheeks. Ears are a fraction large at present but set well apart and gently rounded between. I would, to nit pick, prefer his eyes marginally larger for balance, they are a good shape and set though and have a nice expression developing, nice yellow tone too. Good break to his short straight nose. Level bite and chin. Even close lying lilac coat, in this light it was difficult to see any pinky hues though.

AC BURMESE NEUTER CLUB CLASS

1ST SMITH’S GR PR MACHIKA DEL CONTE

2ND BARRETT’S CH PULSARS BAGATELLE (27d) 6yrs 1mth.

Solid and weighty mature lady who is a very good size supported by shapely legs and oval paws. Her tail is medium in thickness and of quite a good length with a fairly rounded tip. Very gentle rounding to the brow between medium forward tilting, broad based ears in what is a short wide wedge with large pale chartreuse expressive eyes set wide apart, but slightly pricked up at the corners. Excellent break to her short nose, level bite and chin but it was rather grubby. Light tangerine coat mostly even except for a necklace to the throat and rather deep smudges to her thighs with numerous leg bracelets. It lays nicely but is slightly uneven in tone down her back, which I put down to age now.
