NORMA FARNSWORTH TEESSIDE CAT CLUB 28TH.AUGUST 2010

Many thanks for the invitation to this most enjoyable show. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly with some lovely exhibits to judge. Many thanks to my steward who was ‘imported’ from the shorthair section but rose to the challenge without batting an eye and appeared to have a natural eye for a Siamese.

 GR.CH.ADULT FEMALE:

IMP.GR.CH. BROCK’S GR.CH.KEVELS PURRSONALITY (24) 21.12.07

A mature queen of correct type and excellent colour. Good type overall with a straight wedge head and balancing width between large, well placed ears. Good profile, level bite and firm chin. Oriental eye shape and set with clear bright blue colour which could be deeper for perfection. Proud head carriage and a long muscular body of excellent weight with slim legs and long whip tail. Warm seal points and an excellent coat for length, texture and contrast. Nothing flashy but nothing much to fault either.

 SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER NEUTER MALE:

GR.PR. GLAUBITZ’S GR.PR.LITTLEFEAT DISTANT THUNDER(32a) 29.5.09

Well grown boy of excellent type. Very stylish with a good length head and excellent width between large ears. Straight profile, level bite and good chin. Slightly deep set eyes of oriental shape with colour which could be deeper and were looking a trifle sore today. Well defined neckline and long, svelte body of excellent type with slender legs and whip tail. Clear red points and a warm white coat which was short, smooth and close lying.

SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER NEUTER FEMALE:

GR.PR. GREEN’S IMP.GR.CH.& GR.PR. MAPU ALLEGRA(24n) 30.10.04

This venerable lady seems to get better the older she is. Looking super on the day, she is not a huge cat but beautifully balanced and of excellent type. Straight head of good length and balancing width between large ears. Straight profile, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and superior expression. Elegant neckline and a firm body of very good type with slim legs and long whip tail. Good caramel points colour and slight shading on a coat of excellent length and texture.

 SEAL POINT ADULT MALE:

1.CH. FOX’S DRESTOTHRIL DEBUSSIE 14.3.09

Young male of good overall type with straight head and large, well placed ears. Straight profile, bite very slightly over and firm chin. Excellent oriental eye shape and set with clear blue colour which could be a shade deeper for perfection. Well defined neckline and long muscular body, dainty legs and feet and long whip tail. Warm seal points and coat showing good contrast, just a fraction long on the bag. Very stylish.

SEAL POINT ADULT FEMALE:

1.CC.BOB. PAGE’S REYNARDS HOLLY 19.11.09

An exhibit with the wow factor. Still slightly immature but oozing style and type. Fine boned and elegant with a straight wedge and good width between large ears. Excellent profile, bite slightly over and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and enigmatic expression. Fragile neckline and long elegant body with dainty legs and long whip tail. Coat of excellent length and texture with dark seal points providing excellent contrast with a beige coat. One to watch.

2.TOSUN’S PALMIRA DE ZIRE 15.9.09

A well grown female of excellent type. Lovely top of head and large ears. Pinch to muzzle, almost straight profile, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and superior expression. Long muscular body of excellent type and growth with slender legs and long whip tail. Very dark seal points and some shading on a coat of excellent length and texture, just a fraction long on the spine. Unlucky to meet the winner.

Well grown queen with good top of head and large ears held slightly high. Pronounced pinch to muzzle, almost straight profile, level bite and good chin.  Looking beautiful on the day, a queen of great type and style. Excellent top of head and large flared ears Straight profile, slightly untidy bite due to the loss of some teeth and adequate chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and superior expression. Elegant head carriage and long svelte body of stylish type with dainty legs tiny feet and a whip tail which could do with an extra inch. Beautifully mingled cinnamon points of excellent colour and a clear coat of excellent length and texture.

2.HARVEY’S FIORDILISO EROTICA(32b2) 28.10.09

Younger female than the winner and, as a result, not so ‘finished’ or confident. Good top of head with large ears which she tended to hold rather high Straight profile, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour. Elegant head carriage and long well muscled body, slim legs and whip tail. Oriental eye shape and set with clear, bright blue colour. Dainty type overall with slender legs and whip tail. Points all mingled and of good colour and a coat of good length and texture. CHOCOLATE POINT KITTEN FEMALE:

 1.GRAY & JOHNSON’S TSAICHIN SUMMER SOLSTICE 12.4.2010

Well grown kitten with straight lines to muzzle and good width between large ears. Almost straight profile, level bite and good chin. Rather let down by her eyes which lacked oriental shape and set and were too pale in colour. Elegant type with firm body, slim legs and long, fine whip tail. Slightly dark chocolate points for her age which were brindled on the mask. Clear ivory coat of excellent length and texture.

LILAC POINT SIAMESE KITTEN MALE

1(BOB W/H) JOHNSON’S ROYSTERER SULALAYA ICELORD 10.02.2010

I was surprised that the owner of this exhibit was disappointed when I withheld the BOB award from her kitten due to its lack of conformity to the Standard of Points. When I attempted to explain my reasons for this action communications broke down as the owner insisted, repeatedly, that the exhibit in question was exactly the same colour as April Fool! This may be so, in her opinion, but without an on the spot comparison I was unable to consider this fact which, in any event, was irrelevant. The kitten was of staggering growth for its age, in exemplary condition and impeccably presented. However, the Standard of Points requires ‘a beautifully balanced animal with a long svelte body fine legs and feet, with a tail in proportion’. This exhibit was of extremely heavy type with sturdy legs, large feet and a thick tail needing more length for balance. The top of head had good width between large ears, profile almost straight, level bite and good chin. Eyes of basic shape and set with colour which needs to be deeper – SOP for lilac points requires ‘clear vivid blue, the deeper the better’. Beautiful magnolia coat for length and texture. The points colour did not match, a withholding fault according to the SOP, with the head having a blue cast whilst the tail was sandy. In retrospect, perhaps I should be castigated for not withholding first prize along with the BOB, but presentation and condition deserved recognition.

SEAL POINT SIAMESE NEUTER MALE:

1.PC.CULUK’S ADECIAM MALIK 1.11.09

Well grown gentleman with large ears which he held high. Almost straight profile, level bite and good chin. Slightly full eyes lacking oriental shape and set with colour which was not deep enough for a seal. Long, muscular body and slim legs with a long whip tail. Dark seal points retaining warmth and good contrast in a coat of excellent length and texture.

SEAL POINT SIAMESE NEUTER FEMALE:

1.PC.BOB.HELM’S GR.CH.MORALYN VELVETEENA VISION 2.9.02

A veteran lady who was looking very good on the day. Of excellent growth and beautifully balanced with good width between large ears. Straight profile, bite not examined, I remember judging her years ago and she wouldn’t allow me near her mouth then, good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and challenging expression. Long firm body, fine legs and long whip tail. Dark seal points and a shaded coat showing some contrast.

 RED POINT NEUTER BOB ONLY:

 BOB.GLAUBITZ’S GR.PR.LITTLEFEAT DISTANT THUNDER (MN) 29.5.09
