MRS JANET STARRI was delighted to be back at the Transpennine show again this year & thank Joan, Pam & Barry for the invitation & the warm & friendly welcome which is a hallmark of this show.We were in new surroundings this year,but the warm festive atmosphere was just as it always has been and there was a good entry of quality cats,which augers well for the club’s first Championship Show next year.I hope it goes from strength to strength – this hardworking committee deserve success! Heather Gazzard stewarded for me,as she has done for several years and we had a really enjoyable day together.Thank you,Heather,I’m looking forward to next year already!
ORIENTAL BLUE ADULT MALE
1 BOB ARMITAGE’S CH CHAPELROSE OHMEOHMY 13 11 07Very handsome young male of super type.Wedge head with strong profile & a deep perpendicular chin,green eyes of oriental shape & setting, with an inscrutable expression! Well placed large flyaway ears,open at the base, on wide top of head.Long neck,body & legs, whip tail of length to balance. Close fine textured short coat of somewhat dark blue,though the hall light was doing him no favours,sound in colour.Gorgeous boy with an outstanding temperament, a wonderful start to the day & later Best Oriental – congratulations!
ORIENTAL LILAC KITTEN
1 BOB HARRISON’S FULLMOON BEAU-JANGLE 14 04 08Sweet female kitten of good type. Wedge head with straight profile & firm chin.Eyes of oriental shape & setting,colour just turning.Ears needing to be larger & more widely spaced to balance her head.Long body & legs, tail needing an extra inch & with a tiny pip at the tip.Close coat of fine texture,a little dark but with the desired pinkish tone

1 BOB ANDERSON’S FIORDILISO EARL GREY 21 06 08Male kitten of very good type. Wedge head with pinch as yet, straight profile & a firm chin.Green eyes of oriental shape & setting. Well placed large open ears.Plump body,fine whip tail just long enough with a blunt tip & a tiny pip at the end –the length will appear to improve if he loses some girth! Close short coat of excellent texture,again appearing rather dark in the available light but with pleasing pinkish overtones

Eyes sludgy in colour as yet,oriental in shape & setting. Well set large open ears.Long fine body &legs,super lengthy fine whip tail.Close short coat of fine texture,bright red & with some markings evident.Gentle girl
2 WEAVER’S FOXYPAWS SCARLET 09 06 08Another promising kitten,litter sister to the winner & of similar type,if a little finer.Fine wedge head with dip in profile & a firm chin.Orinetal green eyes correctly shaped & set.Large ears open at the base but needing more width between them to balance her head.Long fine body,legs & whip tail to balance.Fine texured short coat,open when I judged her,bright red but showing tabby markings.Friendly baby – I hope she fills out as she grows

1 BOB CASSAR SIMMONDS’ FIORDILISO CARLOS 26 08 08Apricot kitten of very promising type.Even strong little wedge head with straight profile &a firm chin.Sludgy green eyes of oriental shape & setting.Well placed large ears balancing his head nicely Firm little body & legs,super long fine whip tail to balance.Close fine textured short coat,well polished,still showing some tabby markings,of pleasing flat Apricot tone.Very stylish baby – and a real time-waster! 1 BOB MOORE’S SUSPIRIA HORACE WALPOLE 21 07 07Large neuter of good type.Wedge head with pinch,straight profile & firm chin.Large eyes of bright though somewhat pale green.Ears just large enough to balance his head & needing to be more widely spaced.Plump body,whip tail with defect at the tip.Close fine textured short coat,dark in the available lilght.Sweet neuter,enjoying his day out!

Two lovely babies!
