Many thanks to Elaine, Lisa and John for the invitation to judge and to the Wessex Cat Club for their hospitality. Many thanks to Colin Stone for coming down especially to for steward for me, I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did, I look forward to the next time.

AC BRITISH PREMIER FEMALE

1 GPR IVINSON’S PR LALOLA POMETTA MEMENTO 28 FN 8.10.03

Nicely balanced six plus year old lady of very good size and weight with good muscle tone. Broad, round head has full cheeks with very good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with very good width between widely set ears, medium in size and rounded at tips. In profile rounded brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large, orange, round well open eyes set wide apart and with a lovely expression. Short neck to cobby body with a short level back, broad, rounded chest and broad rump giving a good solid appearance. Chunky, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a bit long but very dense, just the soft side of crisp in texture to be really picky. Blue-Cream British of lovely medium blue prettily intermingled with a deepish tone of cream, just showing small patches of cream on chest, left hand front paw, right hand back paw and underside of tail near tip. Sweet natured.

FOREIGN GRAND PREMIER FEMALE

1 IGR PC YOUNG’S GR PR SASHOVA SIYKATERENKA 16a FN 13.8.04

Large, well balanced five and a half year old lady who enjoyed the attention. Good breadth to head which has a short wedge from the tip of the nose to eyes and is equidistant from the eyes to ears, flat appearance to top of the head between the ears. Prominent whisker pads making a broad muzzle. Blue nose leather. In profile straight forehead to upper eye level, very shallow concave curve then nose is straight to tip. Level bite and good depth chin. Large, pointed ears, wide at base and vertically set with the outer line following the outer contours of the face. Green eyes set wide apart, almond in shape and with a gentle expression. Long body of medium bone and very good weight with good muscle tone. Long, slender legs which balance body and oval paws with blue pads. Very good tail moderately long and gently tapering. Plushy double coat is just a trifle long but has a very dense undercoat, just slightly flat along the spine but otherwise stands out well from the body, fine and soft in texture. Russian Blue of medium blue colour which pales minimally at roots but has a distinct silvery sheen. Lovely temperament.

R IGR PC LEE’S GR PR KALUKIKATZ ARABESQUE 76 20 FN 1.3.05

Five year old lady, weighty with a well filled tummy but still well balanced and with good muscle tone. Large, longish body, broad rounded chest, well boned, strong, proportionate length legs and large, rounded paws. Excellent tail, thick and even, carried low and with a rounded black tip. Good length coat is soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Marbled Bengal of golden rufus ground colour with clear black and dark brown facial markings, broken lines and spots on legs, spots on tummy and rings on tail. Strong pattern of well defined non-symmetrical, multi coloured marbling in black and shades of brown with good horizontal flow. Broad head with a medium wedge, high cheek bones, rounded contours and pronounced whisker pads. Strong profile line with distinct concave curve to nose. Nicely rounded full, broad muzzle, broad nose, level bite and good depth, rounded chin. Well set medium sized ears, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full almond shaped, green eyes, correctly slanted towards the outer base of ears. Super temperament, a real ambassador for the breed.

Three lovely boys

1 GR PC EGAN’S GR CH & IGR PR ZAWADI SHAMWARI 76 30 MN 26.6.06

Excellent size and weight to this three plus year old, well balanced boy with a large body, long, sleek and muscular with proportionate length, strong legs and large rounded paws. Excellent tail, thick and even, carried low and with a rounded black tip. Brown Spotted Bengal of bright rufus ground colour with deep brown, well defined spotting, good rosettes just showing slight linkage back from shoulders. Broken lines and spots on legs, spots on tummy and rings on tail. Excellent, clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks and chin straps. Pale lips and chin. Good length coat fairly dense, soft and luxurious in texture and with a light glitter overall. Excellent broad, medium wedge with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to the body. In profile flat forehead rounds at brow, concave curve to nose at eye level then line is straight to tip. Large, broad nose with puffed nose leather. Full, broad muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Thick muscular neck. Large ears, wide at base and rounded at tips just held slightly tilted forwards. Full, almond shape to pale green eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Lovely temperament.

R GR PC RANSOM’S PR TYPHAST ULYSSES 76 30 MN 27.9.08

Smart seventeen month old boy of very good size and weight with a medium to large body, long, sleek and muscular with proportionate legs and large rounded paws. Good length tail tapers slightly to a dark tip, just a trifle fine overall. Short to medium length coat, fairly dense, soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Spotted Bengal with a stunning coat of pale golden ground colour just with slightly dark overtones but excellent large, multi-coloured rosettes along his sides. Good facial markings with ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks, chin straps and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Medium wedge which I would like to see develop a little more breadth to the top of head but with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, minimal concave curve to nose then line is straight to tip. Good muzzle, untidy, level bite and good depth, rounded chin. Nicely pronounced whisker pads. Strong neck. Medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full, almond shaped green eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Excellent temperament.

Petite nearly five year old lady with a well filled and rounded tummy. Lovely head with a rounded skull and rounded width at outer eye, narrowing to definite whisker break. Medium, short, wide muzzle with blunt nose. In profile gently rounded brow, slight stop just below the eye line, then nose is straight but shallows in depth to tip which rounds. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Medium sized ears, wide at base, deep cupped and tilted slightly outwards. Large, pale green coloured, full shaped eyes with dark outline, held wide open. Medium length to body, elegant and of good weight and muscle tone. Legs muscled at body and tapering to small oval feet. Tail is a fraction short to balance body but is slender and with a blunt dark tip. Coat is slightly long but fine, silky and close lying. Singapura of old ivory body colour with warm toned, sepia brown ticking showing good bands of colour Muzzle, chest, stomach and inner legs of unticked ivory. Heavy barring on inner front legs and across haunches. Yellowy broken necklace. Nose leather mid-dark salmon with dark outline. Faint facial markings with cheetah lines from inner corner of eye towards just behind whisker pads. Brown spurs on lower back hind legs. Nice natured lady with a ‘naughty’ expression.

AOC MAINE COON ADULT

Just eleven month old girl who is developing nicely. Nicely balanced head is medium in length and of good width being slightly less than the length. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Very good in profile with shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Super tall, large ears, fully feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tall tufted tips. Pale yellow eyes are spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set but I would prefer a slightly fuller shape to the lower line for perfection. Good square muzzle which I would prefer a little broader but with a fair depth, level chin and level bite. Large, long body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, substantial legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Moderately long neck. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long fairly profuse, flowing fur. Good undercoat with more substantial glossy top coat is developing nicely with fur shorter on head, neck and shoulders and starting to lengthen down back and flanks. Some breeches and shaggy belly fur and nice frontal ruff showing. Blue Tortie Maine Coon with a vague classic pattern but of a nice shade of medium blue overlaid with shades of cream. Nicely prepared, sweet natured girl.

BRITISH BI-COLOURED ADULT

1 CC & BOB WARNES’S LORASTON HEARTBREAK HATTIE 31a F 14.8.08

Eighteen month old girl of good overall balance with good size and weight and good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart, medium in size and rounded at tips but appeared tilted a little too far forwards for my liking. Rounded brow and short, straight, fairly broad nose but nose leather appeared a bit small and high placed and puffed whisker pads gave a broad look to muzzle. Untidy bite and slightly shallow chin. Large orange eyes set wide apart but I would prefer a fuller shape to the lower line. Compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a well rounded chest. Short, fairly well boned legs and rounded paws. Good length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a trifle long, fairly dense and just the soft side of crisp in texture. Blue and White Bi-Coloured British who is about half and half of colour and white. Medium to deeper blue which has minimal paling to roots and white to lower face, chest, broad collar, front legs, half belt, centre of tummy, hip belt and back high boots broken by blue. Nice natured.

AC COLOURPOINTED ADULT MALE

Good overall balance to this eleven month old boy of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Round face has full cheeks with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart to follow the outer contours of the head, medium in size and rounded at tips. Profile shows rounded brow, nice nose break and nose a trifle long but straight, and broad. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart, pale blue in colour. Short neck to cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, broad, deep chest. Short, strong, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Dense, fairly short coat with an excellent crisp texture. Chocolate Colourpointed British of pale ivory base colour with virtually no shading and nice and even medium chocolate points. Faint rings on tail. Lovely temperament.

2 BUDDING’S ALEJANDRO MALACHY MCCOURT 40 2 M 18.3.09

Another very well grown eleven month old boy of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, neat size and rounded at tips. In profile heavily rounded brow, strongly defined nose break, nose a trifle long but straight and broad. Level bite but shallow depth chin. Large, round eyes set wide apart, rather pale blue in colour. Cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a well rounded chest. Stocky legs and large, rounded paws. Good medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a bit long but dense and fairly crisp in texture. Blue Colourpointed British showing rather heavy shading against a rather dark mushroomy base colour. Medium blue points. Nice natured.

AC COLOURPOINTED ADULT FEMALE

Very good overall balance to this nineteen month old lady of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. In profile well rounded brow, good nose break and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and good depth, level chin. Good medium blue colour to large and well open eyes set wide apart. Compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a good breadth, rounded chest. Short, strong, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is fairly short with excellent density and with a crisp texture. Lilac-Cream Tortie Colourpointed British with even colour to all points including legs and paws. Even magnolia white body colour with no shading. Sweet natured.

DEVON REX KITTEN MALE

1 & BOB RICE’S MISTYTOR WARLEGGA 33a36f M 8.8.09

Very good size and weight to this six month old Devon Rex boy. Good breadth to top of head, wedge has fairly high cheek bones, strong muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. In profile brow curves back to flat skull, fairly good stop and fairly short nose, slight whisker break. Large ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, wide at base, tapering to rounded tips, shortish ear muffs around base. Large, pale yellow, full oval shaped eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears. Good solid body with good muscle tone, medium in length, slender and with a broad chest. Slender neck. Slender legs and neat, oval paws. Good length, tapering tail, well covered in wavy fur and with a curl to the fur at the tip. Soft texture coat which is fairly short over the body but not quite even in length but with a good wave along back and sides. Fur is sparse over the top of his head. Crinkled eyebrows and whiskers.

2 DAVIES’S BOUNTIFUL CRACKER JACK 33a36a M 3.11.09

Lilac Smoke little fellow of four months of age. Good breadth to rounded top of head, fairly short wedge but I would prefer more breadth to cheek bones, a trifle fine at muzzle, level bite but very shallow chin. In profile curve at brow, flat forehead, fair stop, nose a trifle long but straight, slight whisker break. Ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, large and wide at base, tapering to rounded tips with neat tufts, slight ear muffs around bases. Large, yellow oval shaped eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears. Good size and weight for age with good muscle tone to medium length body with a rounded chest. Slim legs and largish oval paws. Long, tapering tail well covered in rather straight fur. Devon Rex with a soft texture to coat, uneven in length over body at present, longer fur down spine shows some curl, rest too short to curl and sparse on sides, chest, top of head and haunches. Short curled eyebrows and whiskers. Sweet natured.

3 MAPES’S KARAKUL BEAU REGARD 33a18 MN 13.8.09

Very good size and weight to this six month old Devon Rex boy. Head breadth still needing to develop and lacks fullness at cheeks, fairly good muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Brow curves back to flat skull, slight stop and fairly short nose, fairly well defined whisker break. Large ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, wide at base, tapering to rounded tips with tufts, short ear muffs around base. Large, oval shaped, green eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears. Good muscle tone to long body, slender and with good breadth chest. Slender neck. Long, well boned legs and oval paws. Good length, tapering tail, well covered in rather straight fur but with a nice curl at the tip. Soft texture to coat which is fairly short over body but some large patches show minimal curl. Short whiskers, no eyebrows. Nice natured.

DEVON REX KITTEN FEMALE

Good size and weight with a good firm feel to this seven month old girl. Head has short, broad wedge with good high cheek bones, good muzzle, level bite but very shallow chin. In profile brow curves back to flat skull, minimal stop but I made allowance as she is still teething and fairly short nose, fairly well defined whisker break. Ears are set low and wide apart, wide at base, tapering to rounded tips, sparse fur but slight ear muffs around bases. Large oval shaped eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears. Medium in length, slender body with a broad chest. Slender neck. Long, slender legs and neat oval paws. Long, tapering tail well covered in fur with a slight wave and curl to tip. Devon Rex with soft texture to short coat over body even in length with the hint of a curl. Fur sparse over head. Chewed eyebrows and whiskers. Sweet natured.

2 CHURCHES’S BOUNTIFUL MIABELLISIMO 33a16 F 1.8.09

Well grown seven month old girl. Fairly broad wedge with fairly good width at cheek bones, fair muzzle, level bite but shallow chin. In profile brow curves back to flat skull, fair stop, nose a bit long and rounds and whisker break lacks definition. Large ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, wide at base, tapering to rounded tips and with short ear muffs around bases. Large, yellow eyes are tending to round in shape but set wide apart. Good muscle tone to body which is medium in length, slender and with a good breadth chest and slender neck. Slim legs and neat oval paws. Long, tapering tail well covered in wavy fur. Well covered in soft textured coat, uneven in length but with a slight wave, more evident around the chest and top of legs. Long, straight eyebrows and whiskers. Nice natured.

3 MAPES’S KARAKUL POTTY DOTTY 33a20h F 13.8.09

Well grown six month old girl. Head breadth still to develop, fair breadth to cheek bones, fairly good muzzle, level bite but shallow chin. In profile brow curves back to flat skull but minimal stop giving a long straight line to nose, fairly well defined whisker break. Very large ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, wide at base, tapering to rounded tips with small tufts, short ear muffs around base. Large, oval shaped, green eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears. Good muscle tone to long body, slender and with good breadth chest. Good length, well boned legs and oval paws. Nicely balanced, tapering tail well covered in rather straight fur but with a curl to the fur at the tip. Soft texture to coat which is a bit long over body and uneven in length but with a hint of a wave down the spine, more at the top of her legs. Short whiskers, no eyebrows. Sweet natured.

BROWN TORTIE BURMESE ADULT

BOB JARVIS’S CH KYMIAN QUIZZICAL 27e F 17.6.01

Very good size and weight with a good firm feel to this eight plus year old lady. Medium length body with proportionate, shapely legs and neat oval paws. Good tail for length and shape to balance body but felt tense at tip. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of very good texture just. Prettily mingled deep brown with shades of red. Fairly short blunt wedge but I would prefer just slightly more skull depth. Good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of good size. In profile slight rounding to brow, good nose break and fairly short nose which rounds slightly at tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good size and shape to pale chartreuse set well apart. Sweet natured.

1 CC JARVIS’S KYMIAN BEATRICE 27e F 29.12.08

Elegant look to this fourteen month old young lady of good size and weight and with a god firm feel to her. Slender legs and neat oval paws. Well shaped tail is a fraction short to balance body. Coat is a bit long and was slightly open but maybe she was feeling cold. Very deep brown with rich shades of red to Tortie coat attractively mingled. Good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of slightly generous size. In profile slightly elongated but rounded brow, fair nose break, nose a bit long but straight. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good size and shape to chartreuse eyes set wide apart. Sweet natured.

AOC TORTIE BURMESE ADULT

1 CC & BOB WOODLEY’S CH HONPUSS CARELESS WHISPA 27g F 29.7.06

Medium to longer length body of good weight to this three plus year old lady. Proportionate legs and neat oval paws. Well shaped tail is a fraction short to balance body. Coat a trifle long but close lying and of good texture. Attractively mingled Blue Tortie Burmese of medium to deeper blue with shades of cream which are slightly warm toned. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of generous size. In profile slight rounding to brow, fairly good nose break, nose a bit long but straight. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Good size and shape to pale chartreuse eyes set well apart. Nice natured.
