WEST COUNTRY CAT CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 160110 JUDGE BETTY SHINGLETON.

My thanks to Elaine, Lisa all the Team and the Committee for my invitation to judge. Mary Hutchinson kindly stewarded for me and I had a very enjoyable day, hope you did too Mary, many thanks and look forward to the next time.

IMPERIAL CLASS – AV SLH GR. PR. NEUTER MALE.

IMP.GRND.PREM.CERT. NEWMAN’S GR. PR. DAIRYMAINE KASABIEN. 64 19. 030806.

Overall nicely balanced head, square muzzle with firm chin, cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve when viewed in profile. Large tall ears, wide a t the base and tapering to appear pointed at the tip, set high and well apart, not showing his eyes off to their best today would like them a little larger. Body large and good length, solid – rather plumper than muscular, substantial legs and balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, rich red markings on a bright agouti ground colour. Very sweet nature.

IMPERIAL CLASS – AV SLH GR. PR. NEUTER FEMALE.

IMP.GRND.PREM.CERT. LOXTON’S GR. PR. INNUENDO LILY OF THE VALLEY. 13c6. 300305.

Scull strong broad and rounded, medium length nose with slight dip in profile, cheeks full and round, tapering chin. Medium sized ears spaced well apart, eyes very good shape and expression, strong colour. Very good body shape and condition, thick set legs, and balanced tail. Coat good length, silky texture and very well presented, points seal brown intermingled with shades of red. Good gloves and gauntlets.

AC SELF PERSIAN PREMIER NEUTER MALE.

GRAND PREM. CERT. DASHWOOD’S PR. PETITEPAWS APOLLO. 70 1. 230508.

A lovely youngster. Balanced head, strong rounded scull, neatly placed ears, short broad nose with accentuated break, well developed cheeks, strong muzzle and chin, eyes very good shape and good depth of colour. Cobby body, short strong legs and balanced tail. Very good coat texture, dense, plush and soft in texture, jet black – not a trace of white hairs. Lovely personality.

MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY ADULT MALE.

1ST. CC. FORD’S RUNTUMTUGGER PAVAROTTI. 64 20. 291008.

A young boy, looking good today, although still needing time to reach full maturity. Overall nicely balanced head, muzzle fairly square, much better when he relaxed, cheeks fairly full, nose of uniform length with a shallow concave curve, good bite. Large ears wide at base and tapering to appear rounded, a tendency to be quite mobile, again he just needs to relax. Eyes full and round spaced wide apart with a slightly oblique aperture, sound colour. Very good conformation and condition, substantial legs with large round paws, balanced tail. Coat very good texture and presentation, fairly clearly defined black tabby pattern, some slight diffusion of pattern in places, copper ground colour coming through in places. Very sweet temperament.

2ND.VINCENT’S KASSARO BEAU JANNGLES. 64 41. 150808.

A young boy very much at the adolescent stage and needing time to reach full maturity. Overall head shape a little short, even width to nose with shallow concave curve when viewed in profile, muzzle lacking squarness, cheeks developing. Ears could be larger, round eyes spaced well apart. Overall good body shape and condition, strong bone, would like longer tail. Coat well presented, tabby markings defused at present. Sweet temperament.

MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY ADULT FEMALE.

1ST. CC. BOB. BARLETTA UK GR CH COONTASTIC LAMTARRA. 64 31t. 271005.

Overall very well balanced head, square muzzle and firm chin with good bite, cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve when viewed on profile. Large tall ears wide at the base and tapering to appear pointed at the tip, set high and well apart, eyes very good shape and expression. Solid body, muscular with breadth of chest, substantial legs and large round paws, balanced tail. A stunning coat, excellent presentation, very good texture, clearly defined tabby markings, on a warm agouti ground colour, with sparkling white. Very sweet temperament.

MAINE COON SILVER TABBY SERIES ADULT FEMALES.

BOB W/H. MASKELL’S CH KELFERRON SCARAMOUCHE. 64 41s. 170508.

Not yet two years old and today I didn’t consider quite at his best. Overall head shape good, muzzle a little weak not showing the “squareness” so important in the breed, cheeks fairly full, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve in profile, heavy browed which just spoils the eye shape, ears large and placed well on scull set high and well apart, wide at base tapering to appear pointed at tips. Good length to body and condition, bone a little fine, balanced tail. Coat vey good texture and presentation, black markings on a silver agouti ground, some tarnishing on face.

CORNISH REX ADULT FEMALE.

BOB. ARNOLD’S GR CH PAPAVER ANDROMEDA. 33 31s. 200907.

Medium wedge with high cheek bones, narrowing to a rounded muzzle and firm chin, in profile a flat scull curving gently at the brow and continuing in a straight line to the tip of the nose. Ears set quite high on head, wide at the base and tapering to rounded tips, eyes very good shape and expression. Elegant neck, slender body, very good condition, legs long and straight, balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, silky texture, waving throughout the body.

1ST. CC. PAPAVER APHRODITE. 33 31s. 200907.

Overall very well balanced head, medium wedge with high cheek bones, narrowing to a rounded muzzle and strong chin, in profile a flat scull curving gently at the brow and continuing in a straight line to tip of the nose. Ears set high on head wide at base and tapering to rounded tips, oval shaped eyes with very nice expression. Slender body, very good condition, long straight legs, balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, waving just a little loose.

SNOWSHOE ADULT ASSESSEMENT.

 MERIT. CRUSE’S COLDENUFFORSNOW VALLOIR. F. 83aw. 200408.

I have to apologies to the owners of this girl as I have mis-laid her critique. From memory she showed very good type and condition, with coat conforming to the required pattern, very good texture and presentation. Lovely temperament.
