West Country Cat Club Show on Saturday 16.1.10. Judge Mrs L Fryer

I would like to thank the committee for asking me to judge at this lovely show, I would also like to thank my steward Scott Yalden for looking after me so well and handling the cats with such care. I had some lovely cats to judge.

Burmese Champion Male

1 present

1st Grand w/h Mr&Miss Kitson CH MOONTAM BARTHOLOMEW (27b) M dob 26.12.06.

Medium sized chocolate lad, with gentle rounding to the top of the head and good width between the ears, slight flattening in profile with acceptable nose break, I would prefer more depth of chin. Ears well spaced medium to large in size, Eyes of acceptable size but would prefer more rounding to the bottom line, greeny chartreuse in colour. Body of proportionate weight for his size. Elegant legs with neat oval paws. Tail balanced with tension end to the tail. Coat was a little long along the spine line short down the sides. The coat lacked texture and lacked any shine to his coat. This lad had a good temperament but appeared a little lethargic.

6 present A lovely class of girls this was one occasion I wished I could have awarded 2 grand certificates.

Lovely large mature girl with a super expression, excellent width to the top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears, good profile good nose break, short wide wedge good width at the cheekbones, good depth of chin, ears well spaced medium in size good shape, Eyes large and lustrous chartreuse colour of good depth. Body firm and muscular with gently rounded chest, legs elegant and slender proportionate with the body, ending in neat oval paws. Tail balanced. Coat short and close lying of wonderful texture, even tangerine in colour, well presented lovely temperament.

Res CH Mrs Woodleys CH HONPUSS CARELESS WHISPER (27g) F dob 29.7.06.

Another lovely mature girl with that wonderful expression that Burmese have, gentle rounding to the top of the head with excellent width between the ears, good profile with good nose break, short wide wedge with good width at the cheekbones. Short to medium length nose with good depth of chin. Ears well spaced of good shape and size. Eyes large and lustrous, chartreuse in colour. Muscular girl with elegant and slender legs in proportion with the body, neat oval paws, tail balanced when bought gently round to the shoulder, coat short and close lying just slightly longer along the spine line, good texture with healthy sheen, well mingled blues and creams, well presented. Superb temperament.

1st Pc Mrs Riddles PR OAKFORD HARVEY WALLBANGER (27) MN dob 3.7.02.

Large laid back lad with gentle rounding to the top of the head with excellent width between the ears, which were well spaced and of good size. Good profile, good nose break with medium length nose very good depth of chin. Good width at the wedge and cheekbones, eyes of very good shape and size, pale chartreuse in colour. Muscular body of good size slender legs proportionate with the body neat paws. Tail balanced. Coat of excellent texture warm seal brown in colour. Well presented.

2nd Mrs Millers PR ADATEBU BOBTHEBLOB (27) MN dob 27.6.08.

Another big lad with gentle rounding to the top of the head, good width between the ears. Good profile with good nose break, acceptable depth of chin. Short wide wedge good width at cheekbones. Ears medium in size. Eyes chartreuse in colour of good size and shape. Muscular body with elegant and slender legs ending in neat paws. Tail balanced, coat short and close lying of good texture warm mahogany brown in colour. There may have been some ghost markings down the legs, which I gave the benefit of doubt to. Well-presented super temperament.

Compact medium sized girl, good width to the top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears, good profile good nose break, I would prefer more depth of chin. Short wide wedge good width at cheekbones. Ears medium size of good shape, eyes of good size and shape, chartreuse in colour. Muscular body with elegant slender legs ending in neat oval paws. Tail balanced. Coat short and close lying overall a warm seal brown of good texture. Good temperament.

Super girl of very good type, excellent width to the top of the head, gentle rounding between the ears, good profile good nose break, short to medium length nose good depth of chin, ears of good shape and size well spaced. Eyes large and lustrous with that typical expression, well balanced muscular girl, elegant slender legs with neat oval paws. Tail balanced, coat short and close lying of excellent texture even blue grey colour with silvering evident on the rounded areas. Well presented.

wonderfully well balanced mature girl of very good type. Excellent width to the top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears. Good profile, good nose break, good depth of chin. Ears medium in size well spaced good shape and size, short wide wedge with good width at cheekbones. Eyes large and lustrous with that wonderful wicked expression, pale chartreuse in colour. Body of good weight and muscle, elegant slender legs proportionate with the body, neat oval paws, Tail balanced of good length. Coat very short and close lying of excellent texture and lovely shine to the coat. Soft and silky. Overall warm mahogany browns and reds. Well mingled. Super temperament well presented. A quality girl.

Young immature girl of overall good type going through the adolescent stage. Good width to the top of the head gentle rounding between the ears. Good profile acceptable nose break, good depth of chin, ears medium in size good shape, eyes large and lustrous, lovely expression good depth of colour. Good width at the wedge. Elegant girl with elegant slender legs and neat oval paws. Tail balanced. Coat short and close lying good texture warm mahogany brown in colour. Muscle developing promising young lady.

Tail balanced, coat excellent texture, warm mahogany brown well presented.

2nd Mr Archers CH ISHCUS ALYSSA (27f) F dob 21.5.03.

good width to top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears, ears well spaced medium in size, good profile good nose break short to medium length nose prefer slightly more chin, eyes good shape and size chartreuse in colour, body of good size elegant slender legs proportionate with the body, neat oval paws, coat short and close lying of good texture would have preferred more muscle in the body, coat colour of an even pale cream, super temperament. Well presented.

well grown kitten, good width to the top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears. Good profile with good nose break, medium to long nose would prefer more chin, although good width at the wedge, ears held a little high up on the head. Good shape and size. Eyes good size but would prefer more fullness bottom line, elegant body with elegant and slender legs proportionate with the body, neat oval paws, tail balanced. Coat short and close lying very good texture. blue grey with silvering evident on rounded areas.

Large Muscular girl of super type in wonderful condition for her age. Excellent width to the top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears, good profile good nose break, short wide wedge, short to medium length nose, good depth of chin, ears medium in size well spaced, eyes with that wicked expression large and lustrous. Muscular body, elegant legs neat oval paws, tail just balanced. Coat short and close lying of good texture, pale cream colour with blooming on the rounded areas. Well presented.

2nd Dr Saunders PR PAPAGENA YESLOW WOLSEY (27c) MN dob 1.9.08.

Young lad very gentle, good width to top of head good profile good nose break medium length nose good depth of chin, ears medium to large well spaced of good shape, eyes very good shape and size, chartreuse in colour, elegant legs neat paws, tail balanced, coat short and close lying of excellent texture muscle developing well balanced lad, well presented. Dove grey in colour.

Asian Tabby(spotted,classic,mackeral or ticked) Kitten

1st&BOB Mesdames Williams & Pallett KENNBURY RETURNOFSHE 72 45sq F dob 26.8.09.

Black silver ticked Tabby with bcr. A pretty well grown large kitten for her age with gentle rounding to the top of the head and good width between the ears. Good profile with acceptable nose break, short to medium length nose, prefer a little more depth of chin. Short wide wedge with good width at the cheekbones. Eras well spaced medium to large in size of good shape, broad at the base with the desired forward tilt, thumbprints on the back of the ears. Eyes large and lustrous with that expression found typical in the Asian and Burmese, excellent depth of colour greeny golden. Pale spectacles around the eyes. ‘M’ on forehead. Attractive facial markings. Body of good weight and size with elegant and slender legs ending in neat oval paws, proportionate with the body. Tail of good length which balanced when bought gently round to the shoulder. Overall I found 1-2 bands of warm seal brown ticking on a pale silvery ground with darker colouring down the spine line. She had bars on the inside of all her legs and a darker brown tip to her tail. This baby was delightful to handle she trilled like a bird, her coat had a lovely healthy sheen and was short and close lying. Very promising baby well presented.

2nd Mrs Hacketts RUXHILL MOONSHINE 72 45q F dob 6.5.09.

Black ticked tabby with bcr. Overall this girl was perhaps a little small for her age, she had gentle rounding to the top of her head with acceptable width between the ears, slight flattening in profile with acceptable nose break, medium to long nose with acceptable depth of chin, all of this gave her a slightly longer appearance to the head. Good width at the cheekbones with medium wedge, ears medium to large held a little high on the head, broad at the base with thumbprints behind the ears. Eyes of good size but would prefer more fullness to the bottom line, muddy green in colour. Pale spectacles around the eyes ‘M’ on forehead, attractive facial markings, with stripes extending over the head with a scarab. Body proportionate for her size, elegant slender legs with neat oval paws, in proportion with her body. Tail balanced. Overall evenly ticked with 2 bands of ticking, broken necklace with brown stripes on all her legs and spots on her tummy, brown colour extending up her back legs and a brown tip to her tail, Overall colour of a warm brown with a beige ground colour. Coat texture of a satiny feel, with a glossy sheen, short and close lying. This young lady was very difficult to assess as her temperament today did not make this easy for me. Well presented.

Chocolate Silver Tortie Burmilla with bcr. Well balanced girl of overall very good type, excellent width between the ears with gentle rounding to the top of the head, good profile with good nose break, short to medium length nose with good depth of chin, short wide wedge with good width at the cheekbones, ears well spaced of good shape with desired forward tilt. Eyes large and lustrous, with that typical expression found in Asian and Burmese, golden in colour. ‘M’ on forehead with pale spectacles around the eyes. Body with well developed muscle tone, elegant legs with neat oval paws, proportionate with the body. Tail balanced. Her coat had a super texture of a satiny silky feel, short and close lying. This girl was overall evenly shaded with a mantle of warm milk chocolate shades mingled with red, on a pale silvery ground colour. Super temperament, well presented.

2nd Mrs Francis CH HOBBERDY STILEWAY MATILDA 72 45hq F dob 4.3.08.

Chocolate tortie Ticked Tabby with bcr. Although the same age as the winner this young lady was adolescent with good width to the top of the head and gentle rounding between the ears, good profile with good nose break, short to medium length nose, would prefer more depth of chin, medium wedge with good width at the cheekbones, ears well spaced of good shape broad at the base with desired forward tilt and thumbprints behind the ears. Eyes large and lustrous of a greeny gold colour, spectacles around the eyes ‘M’ on forehead with attractive facial markings. Body still developing muscle tone with elegant slender legs ending in neat oval paws all proportionate with the body. Tail balanced. Coat short and close lying with good texture. Overall evenly ticked with 2 clear bands of ticking, markings of a warm chocolate with shades of red on a pale reddy brown ground colour. Well presented with a lovely temperament.

3rd Mrs&Miss Robertshaws FANDANGO SHADOWS FIZZYPOP 68 43ds M dob 2.7.07.

What can I say about this girl which just oozes quality and type, wonderfully well balanced mature compact girl, excellent width to the top of the head with gentle rounding between the ears, good profile with good nose break short to medium length nose, good depth of chin, short wide wedge with good width at the cheekbones. Ears well spaced with desired forward tilt and rounded tips. Large lustrous eyes with a wonderful expression typical to Asian and Burmese, pale greeny gold colour with pale spectacles around the eyes. ‘M’ on forehead. Muscular body , with elegant slender legs proportionate with the body ending in neat oval paws. Tail balanced. Coat short and close lying of excellent texture to feel with a healthy glossy sheen. This girl was evenly shaded with a broken necklace, coat colour of a pale cool toned bluey/fawney with a metallic sheen on the rounded areas, slight lilac overtones on a beige ground colour, very well presented her usual chatty self but lovely.
