WEST of ENGLAND & SOUTH WALES CS JUDGE – Mrs. Barbara Prowse 21/08/2010Thank you for my invitation to judge once again at this well run and friendly show. I had a lovely day, handled some lovely cats and had a pleasant day once again with my steward Jayne Riley. Thank you Jayne, I look forward to the next time. AOV SLH PREMIER NEUTER MALEGR PC MRS E WATTS’S CH & IGR PR EMANAN BOOTSTRAP BILL (63c) MN 15/7/05Blue Somali with a typical Somali smile and very laidback temperament. Body firm and graceful, lithe, muscular and of medium size. Long legs with oval feet and tufts between the toes. Head is a moderate wedge showing gentle contours on his brow, cheek and profile lines. Ears are set wide apart, broad at the base, proportionately large and tufted. Inner edges are well tufted. Eyes large, almond shaped, set obliquely and hazel in colour. A shallow indentation forms the muzzle from the front and in profile he has a slight nose break. Level bite. My overall impression is of a coat that is a soft blue with chest, belly, under tail, inside of legs and breeches a warm mushroom. The base coat is cool oatmeal. Ticking, ear tips and tufts, facial markings, top and tip of tail, toe tufts and heels are blue. Tail long and well furnished, in proportion to his body. RES GR PC MRS J SEDGWICK’S CH & PR CATWO APOLLO (67 31t) MN 9/10/02Brown Tabby and White Norwegian Forest. Large, heavy boned and elegant. Body long and muscular standing high on his legs with the back legs being longer than the front ones. Triangular head with a lovely long straight profile. Forehead slightly rounded. Chin firm. Ears large with good width at the base. Eyes oval and set obliquely and they are alert and expressive, for perfection would have liked them to be a little bigger. Good bite. Well prepared coat showing the desired woolly undercoat which is covered by a coarser overcoat. He has a full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail long and bushy, easily reaching the shoulders. Lovely temperament, just loved being handled. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and medium blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks well developed with firm chin. Coat well prepared, silky in texture with full ruff and knickerbockers. Coat is showing quite a lot of shading on the body but it is clear at the roots. Dense matching points which are seal brown intermingled with a pale shade of red. All points show colour. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders well.
