Many thanks to West of England and South Wales Cat Society for the invitation to judge and for their hospitality. Also a big thank you to Colin Stone for his expert stewarding, a great day I look forward to the next time. AC BURMESE GRANDCHAMPION MALE1 IGR CC MATHEWS'S GR CH KATCHYN KONTIKI 27 M 7.2.08Two and a half year old boy who was getting very upset with the calling queen nearby but he let us take him out to admire him. Very good size and weight with good muscle tone to medium length body with proportionate length, shapely legs and neat oval paws. Good tail for length and shape to balance body. Brown Burmese of rich, deep brown with a lovely sheen to coat which is a trifle long but close lying and of excellent texture. Fairly short blunt wedge with neat jowls. Good width to slightly rounded top of head between goodly sized ears which seemed well set when he relaxed. ln profile slight rounding to brow, good nose break, nose a trifle long but straight. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good size and shape to eyes when he wasn't pulling faces at us, set well apart and pale yellow in colour. 2 HARRISON’S GR CH MAJIK GIMCRACK 27A M 24.12.05Four and a half year old Blue Burmese boy with a longish body of good weight but he looked a bit lean on the haunches. Long, slender legs and largish oval paws. Good length tail to balance body. Coat is a bit long and dense, slightly open rather than close lying and greasy with some evidence of stud tail and staining. Pale to medium blue in colour but rather patchy and with sandy overtones, Slight silvering to rounded areas. Good width to gently rounded top of head between generous sized ears set well apart. Slight rounding to brow, fairly good nose break, nose a bit long and rounds towards tip. Level bite but shallow chin. Fairly good size and shape to pale chartreuse eyes set well apart. Nice natured boy but unfortunately not up to show standards for this high award today. MAINECOONBROWN'BLUETABBY ADULT MALE1 CC & BOB ROBERTS'S MAINETRAX KOUGAR 64 41W M 27.7.O9Well grown young man of thirteen months of age. Head is medium in length and of good breadth being slightly less than the length but I would like to see him develop a touch more breadth for perfection. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones which I would prefer with slightly more breadth to be really picky. Strong profile line with a concave curve at the nasal bridge which is equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Very large, tall ears, well feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at long, tufted tips. Good size and shape to yellow eyes, spaced wide apart and with a slightly oblique aperture and set. Strong, square muzzle with a level bite and good depth chin. Large, long body which he is still filling out, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, well boned legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Moderately long neck. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with full, flowing fur. Lovely temperament and shown beautifully prepared. 2 HANCOCK’S CH JULESCOON JOE COONZACKI 64 41w M 24.10.08Well prepared twenty month old boy who was looking a bit like a teenager and out of balance today. Head is medium in length but I would like to see him develop a little more breadth to balance. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Large ears are tall, feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at well tufted tips. Good size to yellow eyes spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set. Good breadth to slightly rounded muzzle, level bite and fair depth level chin. Long and solid body, square rump and good breadth to chest with very long, well boned legs and large, rounded paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long, flowing fur which I would prefer a little more profuse. Good undercoat with more substantial top coat still developing length but of good texture. Fur shorter on head, neck and shoulders and starting to lengthen down back and flanks. Some breeches and shaggy belly fur, short frontal ruff. Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon, golden ground colour with a well defined black classic pattern and white to inverted 'V' on nose, chin, bib, patch on tummy and front and back paws. Nice natured. MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY ADULT FEMALE1 CC WAIT'S SHEERCLASS SQUISHY 64 41w F 27.9.09Well prepared eleven month old young lady. Head is medium in length but l would like to see her develop more breadth to the top of her head and at the cheek bones. In profile shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge, nose of uniform width. Tall ears with nice feathering and tufts, wide at base but held a little too high for my preference today. Yellow eyes of good size, almond shaped rather than full but spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique set. Reasonable breadth to square muzzle, level bite and fair depth, slightly rounded chin. Long body, firm and muscular with a square rump and good breadth chest giving a nice rectangular appearance. Proportionate length legs and large rounded paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Moderately long neck. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with good length, flowing fur. Nice natured. 3 HOLDEN-RITCHIE’S AMORAMIST ZELLA 64 41a F 28.11.08Twenty one month old young lady who I would prefer to see develop more breadth to the top of head and at the cheek bones to balance the head length. Profile shows shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge and her nose is of uniform width. Medium sized ears are nicely feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tufted tips. Almond shape to eyes which lack fullness for a good expression are spaced wide apart and green in colour. Strong indentation at jaw hinge gives a boxy look to muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Reasonable size and weight to long body with proportionate length, medium boned legs and rounded paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with good length, flowing fur. Coat is soft and shows seasonal changes lacking a good undercoat at present, some length to top coat and some breeches, shaggy belly fur and slight frontal ruff. Blue Tabby Maine Coon lacking good definition to blue classic pattern probably as she appears to be changing her coat. 4 HANCOCK'S JULESCOON COOL AS ICE 64 41aw F 15.7.09Very well grown thirteen month old girl of very good size and weight. Head is medium in length and of good breadth being slightly less than the length. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Good profile line with shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Good ears tall, large and well feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at slightly tufted tips. Full and round shape to eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set, pale yellow in colour. Strong muzzle with a pronounced, shallow chin but unfortunately she was undershot which was confirmed by the Duty Vet. Large, long body, firm and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, substantial legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Moderately long neck. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and good long profuse, flowing fur. Seasonal changes to coat with good undercoat with length developing to top coat. Some breeches, shaggy belly fur and nice frontal ruff. Blue Tabby and White Maine Coon with a cool beige ground colour and blue classic pattern with white to chin, bib and paws. Good head is medium in length and of good breadth being slightly less than the length with fairly full cheeks and fairly high cheek bones. Well balanced and with shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Excellent tall, large ears, feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tufted tips. Full and round shape to eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set, yellow in colour. Lovely strong, square, broad muzzle with a fair depth, level chin and level bite. Large, long body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, well boned legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long full, flowing fur. Seasonal changes to summer coat so undercoat needs more length to top coat. Good breeches, shaggy belly fur and good frontal ruff. Silver Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon of silver ground colour with black pattern overlaid with shades of red. White to chin, bib, front paws, centre of tummy and back boots. Sweet natured. BRITISH RED SPOTTED KITTEN1 & BOB EDNEY’S ROCADANNE CASPURR3Od M 25.3.10Good size and weight for only five months of age. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, medium in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and strong, firm, deep chin. Good shape to eyes when he could be bothered to wake up and open them, golden in colour and set wide apart. Short neck to fairly cobby body of good muscle tone with a short level back, low on legs and with a good breadth chest. Short well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Excellent tail medium in length thicker at base and rounded at tip. Not quite balanced at present but a little time filling out should get him there. Coat is fairly short with some density and already he has a nice fairly crisp texture. British Red Spotted of red ground colour with a deeper red pattern of spotting showing some linkage back from shoulders. I would prefer a little better definition overall. Rings on tail, broken lines on legs and nice facial markings. Sweet natured. BRITISH BLACK SILVER SPOTTED KITTEN1 & BOB ANDREWS’S CORPORATE FLIRTINI 3OS F 20.5.10Baby of good size and weight at three months of age. Teething pinch is spoiling the round shape to her face at present but she has good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between ears set far apart so following the outer contours of her head, medium in size and rounded at tips. In profile rounded brow and fairly short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth chin but looking a trifle fine at muzzle. Large and well open eyes set wide apart with colour still developing, inner green ring at centre changing to yellowy tones at outer edge. Nicely balanced compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a rounded chest. Short legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail is slightly fine and tapering to tip. Coat is a bit long and kittenish not surprisingly but has density developing and is of reasonable texture. Black Silver Spotted British of silver ground colour with black spotting showing more linkage than I like to see. Sweet natured. BRITISH LILAC NEUTERBOB LARCOMBE'S PR ADSETSH LALA LI-OON 15c FN 13.3.07Three and a half year old lady who is very weighty and well rounded but is still maintaining good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a good round face when viewed from the front with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between her ears set far apart so following the outer contours of her head, medium in size and rounded at tips. In profile rounded brow and reasonably short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large and well open yellow eyes set wide apart. Short neck to very cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, broad, deep chest. Strong, well boned legs and rounded paws. Good tail medium in length, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a trifle long but has excellent density but is just the soft side of crisp in texture. Lilac British of medium lilac colour which is sound to the roots and nice and even. Nice natured. SORREL ABYSSINIAN KITTEN1 & BOB FISKE,S KAZIZKATZ REKSIF HESALOOKA 23A M 10.3.10Very well grown and well developed five month old kitten. Head has gently rounded contours and is gently rounded from top of head to brow. Good, gently rounded width between the ears forming a moderate wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation. In profile slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large, well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges, tufts at tips and set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, expressive eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set. Medium build and size to body, straight back and rounded rib cage. Long slender legs and largish oval paws. Tail, thick at base, tapering gently to tip and of good length to balance body. Coat is short, fine, dense in texture and close lying. Sorrel Abyssinian of pale apricot base colour and chocolate ticking, showing bands of colour and giving me the overall impression of chocolate. Pink paw pads and nose leather. Pigmentation lines from eyes to top of head, pencil lines on cheeks and pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelids. Bright apricot coloured ears with darker tone at tips. Cream chin and lips. Chocolate ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a chocolate tip and slightly up the hocks. Faint broken necklace. I gave her the benefit of the doubt on colour which I feel needs to develop depth and richness for that lustrous copper look.
