WYVERN……….13.9.’08……….Brian Fox

My thanks to Margaret and Julian for the invitation and hospitality. I apologise for the delay in submitting this report, following some non-cosmetic surgery. In the words of Winston Churchill, …..well, you already know what he said!

Class 344a, Burmese Champion Male (3)

Gr. Ch: Bridges’ Ch. Sanlis Diamond Geezer (21.3.’07).

Blue. Not quite medium size, but very fit and muscular, with a balanced, evenly tapering tail, and a fairly short and finely textured, clear coat. Broad head with neat, well-set ears, a short wedge, and pale yellow eyes with the required oblique set and fuller lower line. Very good in profile, with a distinct, but correctly shallow, nose break, straight short nose, and a level chin. Incisors are set in a concave line, but the bite is not undershot.

2nd. (Res W/h): Virtue’s Ch. Janzanco Jentleman Jim (19.5.’07).

Red. Just about the correct medium size, well proportioned and muscular, with a balanced tail that tapers evenly to a rounded tip. Medium length, bright, clear coat. Would like to see a little more head width, and a better-defined wedge. Large yellow eyes are set obliquely, but should be slightly fuller in the lower line. No profile faults, but needs to be more distinct at this level of competition: nose break could be more defined, nose is nearly straight, and the muzzle and chin could be a little stronger.

Class 344b, Burmese Champion Female (6)

Gr. Ch: Collin’s Gr. Ch. Aureus Femme Fatale (8.10.’06).

Lilac. Substantial but very elegant conformation, and very muscular, if a little overweight, which emphasises that the tail only just balances. Short, finely textured coat, of a very attractive dove grey. Definitively broad head has gentle rounding to the brow, and between beautiful ears that emphasise the short, strongly formed wedge. Large, yellow eyes, at best as she relaxes and describes the desired slanting upper line and full lower, which give the Burmese ‘look’. Superb in profile, with a distinct but unexaggerated nose break, straight nose, and deep muzzle with firm chin.

Reserve: Bridges’ Ch. Artro Blue Diamond (21.8.’04).

Blue. Muscular, elegant physique, and slightly overweight. Tail struggles to balance. Short and finely textured clear coat. Broad head with rounded top and brow, and beautifully set and shaped ears that continue the line of a short wedge. Typically shaped eyes, of good size, giving the desired expression. Distinct nose break, straight nose could have fractionally less slope, and a level chin. Middle incisors set back, but the bite otherwise level.

Class 361a, Burmese Grand Premier Male.(1)

1st (IGP W/h): Hutchings’ Gr. Pr. Talipaw Burlington Bertie (13.12.’04).

Chocolate. Good size and conformation, with an evenly tapering tail. Finely textured coat should be shorter, and has dark points. No real head faults, and has eye shape that gives a Burmese expression, but not quite to the standard of excellence required. The head needs to be a little broader, with slightly lower ear-set, and the profile should be a little more distinct.

Class 361b, Burmese Grand Premier Female (2)

IGP: Williams’ IGP Zampetto Limited Edition (12.3.’03).

Brown. Good size and weight, and well-proportioned, though tail needs to be longer for ideal balance. Extremely dark coat of medium length and texture. Broad head with exceptionally well-set and shaped ears of ideal size. Large, pale yellow eyes that express a Burmese look, with slanted upper line and fuller lower. In profile, a distinct nose break, straight nose, and level chin.

Reserve: Quincey’s Gr. Ch. & UK Gr. Pr. Mayrling Ophelia (10.2.’98).

Cream. Medium size and plump, but surprisingly light in weight, an impression exaggerated by a long and woolly coat, which makes her look bigger. Broad head with neat, well-set ears, and a short wedge. Pale eyes of good size and oblique set, look a little distressed. Distinct nose break, straight nose, and a level chin.

Class 348a, Burmese Lilac Adult Male (2)

1st; CC: Langley’s Ch. Chathera Dream Weaver (13.2.’06).

Petite for age, and slim with less than the desired muscularity. Balanced, evenly tapering tail. Finely textured, short to medium length, clear coat. Head needs more width to length, and the muzzle is rather square rather than forming a short wedge. Well-set, medium ears. Pale greenish yellow eyes could have more slant to the upper line, but are of good size. Distinct nose break, straight nose, and a level chin, but would benefit from a little more depth to the muzzle.

2nd: Matthews’ Raeburasi Marula (8.12.’07).

Medium size, but should be more muscular to be typical. Evenly tapering tail balances. Coat is fairly short and finely textured, but should have a sleeker lie. Head should be broader to permit better ear set, and for the ears to be better proportioned. Yellow eyes are a touch deep-set. In profile, a reasonably distinct nose break, and straight nose, but the chin could be stronger and the muzzle deeper.

Class 348b, Burmese Lilac Adult Female (1 + 2 for BOB)

BOB: Collin’s Gr. Ch. Aureus Femme Fatale (see class 344b)

1st; CC: Tarbucks’ Molyrossi Starbuck (18.9.’07).

Medium size and muscular build, with a balanced, evenly tapering tail, and a short, finely textured coat. Good width head, with slight rounding to the top and brow, and a short wedge. Large, expressive yellow eyes, a shade full in the upper line. Fairly modest in profile.

Class 349, Burmese Red Adult (1)

BOB: Virtue’s Ch. Janzanco Jentleman Jim (see class 344a)

Class 352, Burmese AOC Tortoiseshell Adult (1 + 2 for BOB)

1st; CC; BOB: Matthews’ Katchyn Blue Haze (23.6.’07).

Blue Tortie. Medium size and elegant, with a balanced tail, and a medium length, finely textured coat. Broad head, slightly rounded to the top and brow, with well-set ears, and a short, firmly formed wedge. Typical eyes, of good size, have the necessary slanted set with fuller lower line. Very good in profile, with a distinct nose break, straight nose, and a level chin.

Class 363, Burmese Brown Neuter (1)

BOB: Williams’  IGP Zampetto Limited Edition (see class 361b)

Class 366, Burmese Lilac Neuter (1)

1st; PC; BOB: Robinson’s Gr. Ch. & Pr. Rossikhan Inyour Dreams (7.4.’02).

Male. Elegant conformation, and muscular. Tail could be a little longer for perfect balance. Short, finely textured coat. Broad head with neat ears, set to emphasise the short wedge. Pale yellow eyes of good size, and typical shape. Very good in profile, with distinct nose break, straight nose, and level chin.

Class 368a, Burmese Cream Neuter (1 + 1 for BOB)

1st; PC; BOB: Butler’s Chilipepper Rising Sun (6.11.’04).

Male. Sizeable and muscular, and a little overweight. Tail is correctly shaped, but should be longer to balance. Close-lying, deep-coloured coat is fairly short and fine in texture. Broad head, with well-set ears and a short wedge. Large, well-shaped eyes, but needing a slant to the upper line. In profile, a distinct nose break, and straight nose, but the chin could be firmer.

Class 717, Burmese Breeders Adult (6)

1st: Collin’s Gr. Ch. Aureus Femme Fatale (see class344b)

2nd: Bridges’ Ch. Sanlis Diamond Geezer (see class 344a)

3rd: Kasamun’s Ch. Bienzoli Sugar Plum (4.4.’06) Chocolate Female
