WYVERNE CAT CLUB SHOW
SATURDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2008
JUDGE: Charis White

My thanks to Sandie Holloway, who stewarded for me today. It is always a pleasure to work with Sandie – she is quiet and gentle with the cats, enjoys a cuddle with them and they love her. She is also an excellent and experienced steward, and great company. Many thanks Sandie.

BRITISH BLACK SILVER TABBY ADULT

BOB – BENSON’S GR CH SARGENTA SILVER WILLOW – Female

BRITISH BLUE TORTIE & WHITE ADULT, FEMALE

CC, BOB – JOEL’S RUSHLIGHT RAINBOW DANCER 19/05/05

A really good example of British in terms of bone, balance and maturity as she has a lovely round head with super full cheeks and neat ears with plenty of width between. Excellent shade of orange to big round expressive eyes. Short broad nose, with good profile, level bite and firm chin. Her head is held on a thick neck and she has a broad deep body, sturdy legs and rounded paws, and a tail of correct length for her body, ending in a rounded tip. Her coat is quite short, with a good texture. She has the required one-third white proportion to her colours. There is white on her muzzle, chin and across her chest. It extends up her shoulders forming an almost complete collar. She has white legs with patches of colour. The cream areas are sound, the blue silvered. She had some good patching on her body but there are also areas where it was more mingled than patched. I thought long and hard about her and the Certificate, but in the end I felt that her maturity and type are of benefit to the breed, whilst the coat pattern does not have the same impact - although I am very fussy about patching! It is encouraging to see a good mature female of correct type out on the bench.

AOC SILVER SPOTTED ADULT, FEMALE

CC, BOB – GRIBBEN’S CH CRAZIPUSS FULLOFPROMISE – Red Silver 25/10/06

An excellent example of red silver and a good looking cat. She is well balanced with a deep body of good breadth, strong legs and firm round paws. Round head of good proportions to balance to her body, with well set ears and large round eyes. Good profile and level bite. Short dense coat the ground colour pale silvery cream giving good contrast to a clear red spotted pattern. Plenty of spots evident, well distributed, and minimal linkage anywhere. Her tail could be a fraction longer for perfection but she comes close! Super show temperament.

BRITISH BLACK KITTEN

These were a group of excellent quality kittens, all worthy of first placings.

MALE

1ST STUBBS’ POSITIVELY ZAMBEZI 21/05/08

Cobby weighty male of good balance with a broad round head which just tapers at the muzzle – he is only coming up to four months so will have a teething pinch at the moment. Good top of head between neat ears, which are just set a little upright. Good breadth across the cheekbones with round eyes showing a good shade of orange developing. Broad nose, level bite, chin firming well. Super dense crisp short coat – typical of Positively Blacks – the colour sound jet black. In the light ghost tabby markings are discernible on his body and neck. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Good temperament.

FEMALE

1ST, BOB – CHANCE’S CHESLO FILBY HOPE 28/05/08

Lovely type all round to this kitten – she has good conformation and bone to a weighty body, strong short legs and rounded paws. Super broad round head – just has a slightly square muzzle, expected at her age. Neat ears have good width between, large round deep gold eyes, broad nose and level bite. Dense short crisp coat of sound jet black. Balanced tail. She was a little nervous, but settled, and is a high impact kitten.

2ND STUBBS’ POSTIVELY ABRACADABRA 21/05/08

Litter sister to the male kitten and has the same neat cobby balance. She has a round head which just tapers at the muzzle at the moment. Lovely width between neat, but slightly upright, set ears. Large round eyes already showing a good shade of orange. Broad nose, level bite and chin still firming. Short dense crisp coat is sound black. Again, like her brother, she has some faint ghost pattern on her body and neck. Tail of correct length, just tapering at the tip.

3RD CHESTERMAN’S ROCADANNE LOLLY POP 20/05/08

Solid weight kitten of good development with short strong legs and firm paws. Head is slightly heart-shaped at the moment – she has excellent width across the cheekbones and between her ears - but it just tapers at the muzzle. Ears are just a little upright in set. Large round eyes of good colour and expression. Good profile, level bite, chin a little shallow. She has a short crisp coat of good density – showing more guard hairs than the others as yet, but the long-term shortness is evident. The black colour is just fading slightly at the roots. Medium length tail with rounded tip.

BRITISH BROWN SPOTTED NEUTER

BOB - MATTHEWS’ GR PR PAMPURRED PAPER TIGER – Male

ORIENTAL LILAC ADULT, MALE

CC, BOB – THOMPSON’S CH CLAERPENTON PIMPERNEL 23/03/07

Large firm muscular frame with long body and tapered tail to balance, standing on long slim legs with oval paws. Medium wedge is topped by ears with rounded tops and wide bases. They could be a little larger for best balance. Green eyes slant towards his nose – they appeared a little full in shape at times until he relaxed. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Short fine coat lies close to his body, the colour an even frosty grey - could be a little pinker.

2ND SAXON’S TIJANMEEK THEPHANTOM 01/09/07

Well grown muscular male with long firm body, long slim legs and neat paws, and long tapered tail. Medium sized wedge is a little narrow for balance to his size, and large ears need a little more width between. He also has slight ‘jowls’ which adds to the impression that the ears need a bit more width between. Eyes of good green slant towards his nose, again they appeared a little full at times. Fairly straight profile, level bite, chin a fraction shallow. Short fine coat is fairly sound – it has a good pinkish tone to the frosty grey shade. Tail shows a few ghost rings.

AC ORIENTAL BICOLOUR KITTEN

MALE - 1ST, BOB, WILLIS’ LEBRETON FINLAY – Chocolate Point & White Shorthair 21/02/08

Well grown muscular kitten of good size with a long firm body, long slim legs and oval paws. He has a long tapered tail, which is of good length to balance to his body. Long triangular wedge with fairly straight lines running to a fine muzzle – he just has a slight dip and bump to his nose in profile. Ears are of good size and shape and they follow the lines of his head in set. Blue eyes are Oriental in shape, slanting towards his nose. Level bite. Chin just steps back a fraction. Short fine coat lies close to his body. Where present, the points colour is a deep shade of chocolate, but just showing some diffusion of shade on his legs and paws. Fully coloured tail just shows very slight brindling. The body colour is ivory, showing little shading. He has at least one third white in proportion to colour, with white tips to his ears and a white blaze running down his nose, onto his muzzle and under his eyes. Chocolate patch in the white on his nose and onto his whisker pads. The white extends down from his chest to his abdomen, extending just up onto his flanks and creeps up onto his shoulders to form a partial collar. The white also extends up onto his left thigh. There is both white and points colour on all four paws and pads. A pleasing kitten.

FEMALE

1ST SAXON’S ADAJAN WISTERIA – Chocolate & White Shorthair 16/04/08

Neat kitten of nearly five months – she is of good weight and her muscle tone is developing. She stands on long slim legs with oval paws. Tail tapers at the tip, but is just a little short for balance. Medium triangular wedge with good width between ears which are wide at the base. Eyes are a little full at present, fairly well set, developing the green shade. Nose has a slight bump in profile rounding to the nose leather. Level bite and firm chin. Fine, close lying coat. She probably has at least fifty percent white in proportion to colour. The colour is quite a dark shade of chocolate, rich and sound but could be warmer. She has chocolate patches on her face, just extending onto the inner edges of her ears from her forehead and down her nose to her muzzle and whisker pads. Patch of chocolate on the back of her neck. She then has a large patch of colour running down her back with three colour patches along the left side of it and a series of linked patches down the right side. Her tummy is pure white from her chest to her abdomen. She has white front legs and paws with some coloured patches. On her back legs, the chocolate areas run down the insides of her back legs towards her paws, which are white, and there is colour on all four legs and/or paw pads. Fully coloured tail. She has a high degree of scattered white hairs throughout the chocolate areas on her body, which detracts from the impact of the deep chocolate on the clean white. Sweet temperament.

AC ORIENTAL GRAND-PREMIER
MALE

IGPC – LORD’S GR PR TENAJ PINK PANTHER – Lilac Shorthair 21/09/05

I saw this boy several times during the day and he looked different every time I looked at him! I think I got him at his best as he was the first cat I judged and it was quiet and he was relaxed. When viewed in the pen, he had lovely ear set and super set and shape to his Oriental green eyes. He is a large elegant male with a long firm body and good legs and paws. Tapered tail could be a fraction longer – he has probably just grown out of it slightly! Triangular wedge held on a slender neck and he just has a very slight dip in profile. Level bite, chin lines up. Fairly short coat lies close to his body and is a sound even colour – a little difficult to assess in the morning hall light – could be a fraction pinker in tone but the light had a yellow tone to it. Good temperament.

FEMALE

IGPC – LEE’s CH & IMP GR PR WILLHAVETODO OUIJA BOARD – Caramel Tortie 27/05/06

Super cat with a beautifully balanced body, long slim legs and neat oval paws. Long tapered tail balances well to her body. Good wedge is held on an elegant neck with lovely top of head between large, well set ears which follow the lines. Expressive green eyes, Oriental in shape, slant towards her nose. Straight profile, level untidy bite, firm chin. Short fine coat lies close to her body, in excellent condition, with pleasing shades of warm brownish grey mingled and patched with apricot. There is a metallic sheen and the colours are sound to the roots. Super condition and temperament.

RES. IGPC - CLAYDEN’S GR PR SPELLCASTER BLACKBESS – Black 24/02/04

Mature female who is a little broad in the body but she is firm and muscular and stands well. Tapered tail could be a fraction longer for perfection. Medium wedge topped by fairly large ears, following the lines. Green eyes are set to slant towards her nose, which has a slight dip in profile. Level gums! Chin lines up well in profile. Fine coat lies close to her body – super glossy jet black in lovely condition. Well shown, with good temperament.

FOREIGN WHITE NEUTER, MALE

PC, BOB – VIGGERS’ SNOWSEAL COUNTRYCAT 21/06/07

Large well grown male with a long firm muscular body, long slim legs and oval paws. Tail of correct length to balance and tapering at the tip. He is actually just a little rounded in the body, but it does not detract from his overall appearance! Medium wedge is held on a slender neck. Ears could be a fraction larger but they are well set to follow the lines. Oriental shaped blue eyes could just slant a little more towards his nose, which just has a slight dip in profile. Untidy but level bite. Firm chin. Short fine coat lies close to his body, clean white. Lovely temperament.

AC BRITISH BREEDERS ADULT

1ST – YOUNG’S HARLEME BERTRAND – Black male 29/10/07

Lovely balance and type to this cobby young male – he has a well rounded head set on a thick neck and stocky body. Well set ears and large round eyes. Good profile and level bite. Coat is dense and crisp, jet black – just looks a little ‘dusty’ at the roots rather than unsound. Balanced tail.

2ND – LOCKWOOD’S FARLEYWOOD MR BUMBLE - Lilac Colourpointed male 21/07/07

Broad stocky male with good depth and breadth of body, strong legs and firm paws. Round head with well set ears just ends in rather a square muzzle. Round eyes with quite a good shade of blue showing from the centre. Good profile. Level bite, firm chin. short dense coat, the body fairly clear magnolia, with matching lilac points. Balanced tail.

3RD – HARDY’S STONNALL MAGICAL TOYBOY – Cream male 06/10/07

Balanced cobby boy with a good British head and well set ears. Eyes are a little small and almond in shape, needing to be larger and more open for correct look. The colour is correct. Nice profile and level bite. Dense crisp cream coat is short, the colour varying in shade across the body, but sound at the roots. Tail of correct length with rounded tip. Sweet temperament.

AC BRITISH SENIOR ADULT

1ST – BROWN’S CHARMODEN SIMPLYYAZZ – Blue-Cream female 06/04/04

A sweet gentle soul with a lovely broad deep cobby body standing on short sturdy legs with neat paws. Very round head with neat ears and large round gold eyes. Short broad nose, level bite, firm chin. Her coat is dense and sort but it lies rather flat. Deep blue and medium cream are very well mingled across her body legs and paws – the colours sound. Tail a fraction short for her stocky body.

2ND EDNEY’S CH WELLMAR BOYGEORGE – Blue male 17/06/06

Well boned male but he is young looking and stands tall on thick legs and large round paws. He also lacks ‘body’ down the spinal area where he is a little lean. I think he needs a winter to body him up again after this summer. He has a well rounded head with full cheeks and good width between his ears. Expressive round eyes. Good profile, level bite in slightly square muzzle, firm chin. crisp dense coat just pales a little at the roots and has some slight silvering in places.

Medium framed female with round head just topped by rather large, tall ears and tapering to a narrowed muzzle. Large round eyes, the blue developing. Good profile and level bite. Short dense coat, the magnolia body colour contrasting well to the points colour which has reasonable depth of shade on mask, ears and tail, paler on legs and paws. Oriental shaped eyes are developing in colour and slant in set towards the nose. Slight bump to nose in profile, level bite – baby teeth – and firm chin. He has a short fine coat, the colour still has to settle as it is solid red down the spinal area with lots of spots still evident on a paler ground colour along his sides.
