Show report for Yorkshire County Cat Club Show held on 25/10/2008Judge Prue KerrCongratulations to Lynda and her team on a well organised show - the Dome certainly provided an interesting setting. I started out to judge alone, but was delighted when Pat Tegg joined me to steward - many thanks again, Pat. BURMESE IMP GR PR FEMALEIMP GR PR HARDY‘S UK GR CH & GR PR MACHIKA CRÈME ANGLAISE,cream; nice fit, firm feel to this attractive girl, looking very good indeed for her 10 years; tail of good length and shape, coat sleek and fine, just a tad hot in colour over the back, but with desired powdery effect, head is short, with level chin and bite, nice rounding to brow, and gently domed top of head, good ear shape and set, well shaped eyes have oblique upper lid and rounded lower lid, giving typical expression, pale yellow eye colour. RES SMITH‘S GR PR MACHIKA GUINEVERE,blue; basically a very nice girl, who missed out today because she is too portly in the body, and has proportionately thick tail, her coat is of beautiful sleek texture, and with silvery paws and muzzle, head is short, with level bite and deep, level chin, good break in profile, and rounded brow, nicely rounded top of head between well shaped and placed ears, pale yellow eyes of correct shape, giving nice expression. BLUE BURMESE ADULT, MALE1 CC BOB GRIMES‘ MYTHIAN MEKURIA;a very big strong, well developed lad for his age, already a muscular, masculine feel to him, balancing tail of good shape, coat is fine and of very sleek texture, clear, but pewter in colour, and rather lacking the desired silvery look on his paws or face; head is excellent, with nicely rounded brow, good width between well shaped ears, which are widely set, level chin and bite, yellow eyes are of good shape and set. FEMALE1 CC RAE‘S RAEBURASI NARA;nice firm muscular feel, with well proportioned body, legs and tail, sleek coat of good texture with silvery extremities, short head has good break in profile and level chin and bite, nice width at jaw hinge, width to top of head, with ears well set when she is relaxed, again, inclined to hold her eyes round until she is relaxed, when they are of much better shape and expression, colour yellow with green rim. 2 ROBINSON‘S CH ROSSIKHAN VELVETMISS,quite lightly made and with an immature feel as yet, lacks the heavier than she looks feel, body, limbs and tail in harmony, with dainty oval paws, coat is sleek and with nice silvery extremities, short head has fairly good profile break, level chin and bite, rather narrow at the muzzle, giving her an immature look, nice width to top of head, with widely set ears, whose outer line follows that of the upper head, eyes are rather round in shape, and rather more green in tone than I would like, particularly in such a young cat. CHOCOLATE BURMESE NEUTERConsidered for BOB onlyBOB HUTCHINGS‘ GR PR TALIPAW BURLINGTON BERTIE;heavy strong MN, with well proportioned body, limbs and tail, sleek, clear, warm toned coat, head has a medium length wedge, with good nose break and level chin and bite, ears are well set and shaped, but seem rather small in proportion to his large, mature head, nicely shaped and set yellow eyes. DEVON REX KITTEN, MALE1 AGGETT‘S MAGICAL FROG PRINCE; 33a40; 25/06/2008;excellent firm, muscular feel to this lovely little lad, firm little body, slim legs, fine tail of balancing length, slim legs, dainty paws, body covered in fine, downy coat, waves as yet to develop on body, although legs and tail have waved coat, at present all incisor teeth are missing, as he is teething, head is short with lovely width at jaw and good whisker break, good stop in profile with brow curving back to flat skull, excellent widely placed ears have tufts developing, and are nicely cupped, pale blue eyes have obliquely set upper lid and rounded lower lid, giving a lovely expression, I could only fault him on the (probably temporary) lack of rexing over body. 2 WESTON‘S ADATESH FIRETHORN, 33a20f, 16/04/2008;strong well built boy, with firm muscular body, slim legs and balancing fine tail, all well covered in slightly untidy coat, with waves still developing; head is short , bite level, chin not deep, but good width at jaw hinge, some whisker break, stop in profile only fair, leading to flat skull between nicely cupped, widely spaced ears, correct obliquely set upper lid to eyes, giving typical expression. 3 HOOLE’S ADATESH FLAMINHOT, 33a20d 16/04/2008;well grown, muscular feel to body, proportionate fine tail, slim legs and oval paws, body well covered in coat, but waves as yet to develop, head shows bite which is only just level and very shallow chin, virtually no stop in profile, some whisker break, flat skull , ears of proportionate size, well placed but not cupped in shape, eyes of correct shape and set. 4 TEASDALE & WILKINSON’S MAGICAL MOJO, 33a40 11s; 27/02/2008;Well grown, muscular body, tail is slightly short and thick in shape, strong, quite sturdily built legs, covered in coat throughout, but waves still developing, head is slightly long in proportion to its width, ears of balancing size, nicely cupped, bite level but chin shallow, needs more whisker break and stop, eyes are too round in shape. FEMALE1 BOB SHEPHERD‘S MAGICAL ROSYLEE, 33a18h, 27/02/2008;well grown girl of excellent type, with well proportioned muscular, elegant body, slim legs with oval paws, balancing fine tail, well covered in coat, waves developing nicely, but rather unstructured as yet, head is short, with good width at jaw, excellent profile stop leading to flat skull, between ears which are nicely cupped and widely spaced, good whisker break, level chin and bite, correct eye shape, with obliquely set upper lid. A very nice kitten and, although in my opinion the male kitten had the slightly better head type, she had no faults which would have precluded the award of BOB. 2 STORK‘S REXITUDE MISS TYKETO, 33a 18e; 05/03/2008;very muscular and fit, well proportioned body, slender limbs, oval paws, balancing fine tail of good length, coat well waved over body and limbs, head has a good wedge, good width at jaw, stop in profile only fair, and end of nose rolls off a little, good whisker break, nicely cupped ears are well placed, flat skull, correctly placed and set eyes. 3 PYWELL’S ADATESH WOOS FUJICHERRY, 33a36e, 16/04/2008;rather small for her age, but feeling fit and muscular, fine tail of proportionate length, slim legs and rounded paws, well covered in coat throughout, but any waves apparent are rather loose and unstructured, head is short and bite only just level, chin rather shallow, virtually no stop in profile, ears are held too upright, and she needs more width at top, between ears which are placed too upright, lacks width at jaw, eyes are rather small in size and slightly round in shape. AC BURMESE JUNIOR ADULT1 BRADLEY’S AUREUS CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE,chocolate male; lovely big strong, muscular lad with balancing tail length and shape, really excellent coat texture and nice warm tone, head has short blunt wedge, level bite and chin, really excellent breadth to top of head between well shaped ears of balancing size, rounded brow, very expressive clear yellow eyes have correct slanted upper lid and rounded lower lid, giving lovely expression.
