Introducing

Macchuie of Gayzette GB

T.I.C.A. Registered Male Serval

Macchuie of Gayzette GBIn August 2006 we were offered the chance of a lifetime, for anyone who like us has a passion for exotic cats the opportunity to hand rear a Serval is something that most of us can only dream of. Of course we jumped at the chance of rearing such a special cat.

Our Macchuie was delivered to us at the very delicate age of one day old, he was one of a litter of three cubs, who were rejected by their Mother and two perished.

It is well known within the cat world that we at Gayzette have Asian leopard cats, have a passion for exotic cats and hold a DWA Licence and this was why we were offered this cub.

It was a daunting thought that we were responsible for such a special and beautiful cat, we were extremely fortunate that Macchuie took to his bottle with no problem at all and so started the routine of two hourly feeds, something that I thought was well in the past! Macchuie thrived on the powdered milk and put on weight at a rate of between one and one and half ounces per day.

Macchuie of Gayzette GBWhen Macchuie was about four weeks old he was introduced to other cats and since that time has lived, played and slept with his friends.

I am sure he doesn't see himself as anything different to his companions and our other kittens didn't, nor do now, see him as anything other than another cat.  Macchuie is spotlessly clean and just as litter trained as any other young cat.

Macchuie is the most loving of cats, he still has his bottles three times a day, although it does look a little ridiculous now, but I will continue to feed them to him as long as he wants them, personnally i hope he keeps taking them for years to come!

Macchuie of Gayzette GBMacchuie is friendly and outgoing to all our friends and relatives and when someone new comes in he is the first of the cats to come forward to greet them, he has a purr so loud and his favourite way of being petted is for me to bury my face into his belly when he is lying down and he washes the side of my face.

We kept a diary of photos of Macchuie and we hope that anyone who visits our website will take as much pleasure from them as we do.

It is our intention to attempt to breed savannahs in the future but that is very much in the lap of the gods!
